This position will identify the need for the services of outside contractors for all work that is beyond their expertise, and work in collaboration with the Maintenance or General Manager to determine the best course of action.\n\nResponsibilities:\nInspect, repair, and follow preventative maintenance on building and electrical and mechanical equipment; identify damage and resolve safety risks\nRespond to maintenance calls, troubleshoot, and complete work orders in a timely manner\nRecord equipment and preventative maintenance tasks and work orders\nMaintain inventory of materials, supplies, tools and spare parts and report usage; suggest re-orders to personnel with authority\nCoordinate with members of the Food Safety department to ensure proper record keeping and compliance with Food Safety processes and procedures\nEnsure preventative maintenance and end of life replacement plan for building and equipment assets is followed\nSupport scheduling of equipment and service contractors for outsourced equipment maintenance and record keeping of services performed, supporting invoicing verification and processing\nAssist in the equipment development, maintenance, and repairs \nAdhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies\nOther core expectations as defined by the company.\n\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; post secondary education or trade school preferred\nA two-year technical certification in electrical or mechanical training is preferred\nMinimum of one (1) year of experience in a maintenance technician role in a manufacturing or production environment required\nProven operating experience with hand and power tools, machinery and conveyor systems and have a general understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations and safety requirements\nCommitment to adhere to and experience in statutory and legislative standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, PrimusGFS\nProven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills\nAble to work independently with minimal instruction and high accountability while also able to work with others\nSound analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills; strong math skills\nComputer Skills; basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nWork Environment:\nHours of work may vary depending on business needs; on-call and holiday availability, ability, and willingness to travel\nThis job operates across multiple location and environment could vary from a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F to a greenhouse operation with temperatures that range from 80-100°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation\nRole occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
