There is no “fake it until you make it” here\nResponsibilities\nDesign and engineer utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects 50 MW or larger, including the associated electrical power systems. \nDevelop detailed electrical engineering designs including: \n- Overall system layouts\n- Equipment selection and technical specifications\n- Single-line and three-line diagrams\n- Medium-voltage AC and DC cable sizing and routing\n- SCADA and communication system design\n- Grounding system design\n- Protection, control, and wiring diagrams\n- Underground collection system and trench layouts\nPerform engineering calculations including voltage drop, cable ampacity, conduit fill, grounding, fault current, equipment loading, and other analyses required to support design decisions. \nPrepare complete construction drawing packages using AutoCAD. \nCoordinate engineering activities with clients, utilities, permitting agencies, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and external engineering consultants. \nSupport projects through construction by responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing equipment submittals, evaluating field issues, and performing site visits as required. \nManage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting project schedules and deliverable commitments. \nBreak down complex engineering problems into practical, efficient design solutions and support the technical development of project team members. \nEnsure designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, client requirements, and company quality procedures. \nMaintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable industry and regulatory standards. \nParticipate in internal design reviews and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes. \nPerform other duties as assigned. \nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. \nMinimum of 4 years of experience designing commercial and/or utility-scale solar PV systems. \nExperience preparing construction documents using AutoCAD, including layer management, sheet sets, external references (Xrefs), blocks, dimensioning, plotting, and file management. \nWorking knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable industry standards. \nUnderstanding of medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, power system fundamentals, and electrical design principles. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, utilities, permitting agencies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. \nAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other engineering documentation. \nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure. \n6+ years of experience designing utility-scale solar PV systems. \nExperience designing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). \nFamiliarity with PVsyst, CYMCAP, ETAP, or similar engineering software. \nFamiliarity with electrical studies such as cable ampacity, voltage drop, grounding, short-circuit, or load flow analyses. \nFamiliarity with utility interconnection requirements and utility-scale project development. \nNABCEP certification. \nLocation\nThis position will be based out of our exciting Denver, CO area office with the flexibility to work a hybrid in-office and remotely weekly schedule. We also provide a parking spot for the days when an employee wishes to drive to the office and for those that utilize public transportation, we will cover the costs associated with traveling to and from the office.\nSalary Range\n$110,000- 135,000 Annually\nCompensation and Benefits\nWe offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
