You will focus on a Java-based mainframe agent running on IBM z/OS, enabling scalable access to critical mainframe data sources while supporting the modernization of legacy implementations. Working within a broader Java engineering team, you will contribute to cross-platform solutions, share mainframe expertise, and help evolve modern platform capabilities and architecture.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nDesign, develop, and maintain a Java-based agent running on IBM z/OS systems.\nBuild capabilities to scan and interact with mainframe technologies, including VSAM, QSAM, IMS, DB2, flat files, and system-level resources.\nDesign, implement, and support scalable software solutions from development through production operations.\nBuild and maintain scalable microservices and APIs using Spring and Spring Boot.\nOptimize performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale data scanning and processing workloads.\nContribute across the broader Java platform and support engineering initiatives beyond the mainframe domain when needed.\nShare mainframe expertise and support other engineers in developing knowledge and capabilities within the domain.\nCollaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and deliver customer-focused outcomes.\nWe are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.\nWHAT YOU BRING\nExperience with modern Java development frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.\nExperience building distributed systems, APIs, or microservices-based architectures.\nFamiliarity with containerized environments and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.\nExperience working with IBM z/OS or enterprise mainframe environments.\nKnowledge of mainframe technologies and concepts such as VSAM, QSAM, JCL, datasets, DB2, IMS, or similar systems.\nExperience designing and delivering software solutions that balance performance, reliability, and maintainability.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills, with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.\nCuriosity, adaptability, and an interest in learning new technologies and evolving engineering practices.\nMAY BE BENEFICIAL\nAI-assisted development tools and practices.\nDevOps, CI/CD, and software delivery automation.\nGolang development.\nCOBOL, REXX, RACF, USS, or other mainframe technologies.\nLegacy modernization and platform transformation initiatives.\nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US:\nInnovation: We celebrate those who think critically, like a challenge, and aspire to be trailblazers.\nGrowth: We give you the space and support to grow along with us and to contribute to something meaningful.
