The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties. \nJob Description\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nThe following job description is for a position of Maintenance with Purple and Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.\nPerform highly diversified duties to install and maintainproduction machines and the plant facility’s equipment.\n\nProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.\n\nPerform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.\n\nPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.\n\nRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.\n\nDiagnose problems, replaceor repair parts, test and make adjustments\n\nPerform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipmentand plant facilities.\n\nPerform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.\n\nUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric metersand material handling equipment in performing duties.\n\nDetect faulty operations, defective materialand report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.\n\nComply withsafety regulations and maintainclean and orderly work areas.\n\nEquipment Operating Demands:\nAbility to operateforklifts.\n\nAbility to operatepallet stretch-wrapping machine.\n\nAbility to operatecardboard baling machine.\n\nRequired Skills, Education, Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\n\nMinimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity.\n\nReasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions, to deal with problems from various situations.\n\nMathematics Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide 10’s and 100’s by 2, 3, 4 and 5, perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins as part of a dollar, and perform operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound.\n\nLanguage Ability: Ability to print (to inscribe by whatever means) simple sentences, series of numbers, names, and addresses. Also, includes the ability to communicate in simple sentences\n\nKnowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to warehousing.\n\nKnowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nPhysical activities may occasionally include:\nRemainingin stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.\n\nAdjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.\n\nPhysical activities may constantly include:\nCommunicating with others to exchange information.\n\nRepetitive motions that may include the wrists, handsand/or fingers.\n\nAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required totalk and hear.\n\nThis position is very activeand requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.\n\nThe employee must frequentlylift and/or move items over 75 pounds.\n\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\n\nEnvironmental Conditions may occasionally include:\nThe worker is subject to a variety of environmental conditions, both inside and out.\n\nThe worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.\n\nThe worker is subject to extreme cold - temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of over one hour.\n\nThe worker is subject to extreme heat - temperatures in excess of100 degrees for periods of over one hour.\n\nThe worker is subject to noise - sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order tobe heard above the surrounding noise level.\n\nThe worker is subject to vibration - exposure to oscillation movement of the extremities of the whole body.\n\nThe worker is subject to hazards.
