iOS Engineer

Responsibilities:

• AI-Native Velocity: Drive high-velocity iOS development by leveraging tools like Cursor, Gemini, Codex and Claude to accelerate feature delivery in Swift, while focusing engineering effort on system design, edge-case handling, and polished user experiences.
• Unbreakable Mobile Architecture: Design robust iOS applications that ensure consistent behaviour across devices, OS versions, and backend dependencies, embedding resilience through structured error handling, retries, and graceful fallbacks.
• Performance and App Health Ownership: Own application performance as a core engineering discipline; optimise for launch time, UI responsiveness, memory efficiency, and crash reduction, ensuring high reliability at scale.
• End-to-End Golden Path Ownership: Drive features from design to App Store release, ensuring high-quality implementations, strong release discipline, low regression rates, and predictable delivery cycles.
• API and Service Integration Excellence: Build clean, reliable integrations with backend services, ensuring robust data handling, version compatibility, and resilience to partial failures and inconsistent responses.
• Release Systems and Observability: Strengthen release confidence through CI/CD pipelines, monitoring (Crashlytics, logs), and controlled rollout strategies, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
• Scalability and Maintainability: Continuously improve application architecture using modular design, MVVM, and clean architecture principles, ensuring long-term scalability and ease of evolution.
• Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Contribute to architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Backend, Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Core Engineering Excellence: Apply strong fundamentals in iOS internals, multithreading, memory management, and debugging, ensuring robust and efficient implementations.

Requirements:

• SDE1 1-3 years; strong ownership of production mobile systems.

• Languages and Frameworks: Swift, iOS SDK, UIKit / SwiftUI.
• Architecture and Patterns: MVVM, Clean Architecture.
• Networking and Data: REST APIs, JSON, URLSession / Alamofire.
• Performance and Monitoring: Firebase Crashlytics, Performance tools.
• Build and Infrastructure: Xcode, CI/CD (Bitrise / Jenkins / GitHub Actions).
• Observability: Logs, Crash analytics, Performance metrics.
