Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nContribute to the design, development, testing, maintenance, and improvement of scalable software systems with a focus on high-volume, low-latency projects.\nApply standard techniques and limited judgment to solve complex problems, with increasing autonomy and responsibility.\nPerform advanced debugging, write automated testing scripts, identify opportunities for refactoring code, and contribute to the design and architectural discussions.\nCollaborate across teams, coordinating development efforts and sharing knowledge with peers to ensure project success.\nContinuously improve code quality by writing efficient, high-quality, and testable code using frameworks such as Maven, Gradle, and Spring.\nAnalyze technical requirements and contribute to solutions that drive performance, scalability, and efficiency.\nActively contribute to the creation and definition of Epics/User Stories and project goals.\nEvaluate and recommend tools and technologies to improve software development processes.\nWhat You’ll Bring:\nStrong programming skills with experience in object-oriented languages and frameworks, with growing proficiency in applying design patterns.\nProficiency in debugging, writing automated tests, and solving technical challenges independently or with minimal supervision.\nA collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively across teams.\nInitiative in learning new technologies, developing expertise in your area of focus, and contributing to continuous improvement in processes and code quality.\nAccountability for your work, with a focus on meeting performance metrics such as GitHub contributions, velocity, and DORA benchmarks for software reliability and efficiency.\nAbility to manage work priorities and independently handle more complex tasks with minimal guidance.\nMinimum Qualifications and Experience:\nBachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical field.\n5+ years of experience in software development, specifically in Java and Linux/Unix environments.\nExperience working with video/audio tools such as FFmpeg or GStreamer.\nDesired experience with C, C++, and/or Rust, and strong web application development skills using REST.\nExpertise in distributed web application development, particularly with Docker and Kubernetes.\nFamiliarity with the application deployment lifecycle using automated pipelines (CI/CD).\nSome relational database experience.\nProficiency working in terminal/command-line on Linux systems.\nComfort with using IDEs like IntelliJ or Eclipse and experience with debugging.\nExperience with software version control, preferably using Git and GitHub.\nFamiliarity with GCP/AWS, NoSQL databases, oAuth, and message buses like Google Pub/Sub or RabbitMQ.\nFamiliarity with Ffmpeg and/or Gstreamer\nKnowledge of database schema design, low-latency systems, or multithreading.\nExperience with message queues and distributed systems.\nExperience with databases such as MySQL, Cassandra, Postgres, or ClickHouse.\nFamiliarity with Unix hardware driver development.\nUnderstanding of video streaming protocols such as RTMP, HLS, or DASH.\nExperience with JavaFX and participation in community-built software applications and libraries.\nHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), along with Docker and Kubernetes expertise.\nFamiliarity with CI tooling such as Jenkins, and Gradle.\nFamiliarity with generative AI development such as Claude, Copilot and Gemini\nWork Environment & Physical Demands: \nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer will be required. This role consistently operates standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
