You will work closely with engineering and product teams to identify risk early, strengthen regression coverage, improve automated testing, and provide clear visibility into product quality before releases. Engineers remain responsible for the quality of the code they deliver, while QA provides independent verification, testing expertise, and quality leadership across the product.\nMission\nMake releases more dependable through risk-based testing, maintainable automation, and clear evidence of product quality across mobile applications and backend services.\nWhat You’ll Do\nTesting & Quality Assurance\nPlan and execute exploratory, functional, regression, API, and mobile testing.\n\nTest across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers, and network conditions.\n\nIdentify high-risk areas and prioritize testing based on potential user and business impact.\n\nValidate critical user journeys across the product.\n\nVerify fixes and perform regression testing before releases.\n\nMaintain clear documentation of test coverage, results, and known risks.\n\nTest Automation\nDevelop and maintain automated tests for critical product workflows.\n\nBuild reliable automated checks for mobile applications, APIs, and platform services.\n\nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows.\n\nInvestigate and resolve flaky or unreliable tests.\n\nMaintain reusable test data and testing infrastructure.\n\nContinuously improve the balance between automated and exploratory testing.\n\nDefect Management\nIdentify, document, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.\n\nPartner with engineers to investigate issues and identify potential root causes.\n\nVerify fixes and ensure that resolved defects do not introduce regressions.\n\nTrack recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve product quality upstream.\n\nRelease Quality\nParticipate in release planning and readiness reviews.\n\nDefine and communicate release risks, unresolved defects, and testing gaps.\n\nHelp establish measurable quality standards and release criteria.\n\nProvide clear recommendations based on testing evidence and risk.\n\nPartner with engineering and product teams to ensure quality is considered throughout the development lifecycle.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Product and Engineering to define clear acceptance criteria.\n\nWork with developers to improve testability and prevent recurring defects.\n\nCollaborate with Support and Trust & Safety to identify patterns in customer-reported issues.\n\nContribute to accessibility, performance, security, and reliability testing.\n\nHelp establish QA processes and best practices as the engineering organization grows.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.\n\nStrong experience with both exploratory testing and automated testing.\n\nExperience testing mobile applications and APIs.\n\nProgramming experience sufficient to design, write, debug, and maintain automated tests.\n\nWorking knowledge of Git, code review, and CI/CD workflows.\n\nExperience developing software and automated tests both with and without AI-assisted coding tools.\n\nAbility to effectively use generative AI and coding assistants while maintaining ownership\n\nof the resulting code.\n\nStrong understanding of how to review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code.\n\nAbility to identify potential security, reliability, and maintainability issues in AI-assisted development.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication.\n\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\n\nAI-Assisted Engineering\nWe actively use modern AI development tools to increase engineering productivity.\n\nThe right candidate should be comfortable working in an environment where for the correctness and maintainability of all testing work.\n\nProtect proprietary code, credentials, customer information, and other sensitive data when using AI tools.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience testing social, creator, media, or consumer applications.\n\nExperience with real-time features such as messaging, notifications, feeds, or live interactions.\n\nExperience testing monetization, subscriptions, payments, or creator payouts.\n\nExperience with mobile automation frameworks.\n\nExperience with API testing and service-level automation.\n\nExperience working with cloud-based applications and distributed systems.\n\nFamiliarity with accessibility and performance testing.\n\nExperience establishing QA processes within a growing engineering organization.\n\nSuccess in this role will include:\nEstablishing reliable regression coverage for agreed-upon critical user journeys.\n\nReducing high-severity defects reaching production against an established baseline.\n\nIntegrating stable and valuable automated checks into the development and release process.\n\nImproving test coverage and test-suite reliability over time.\n\nMaking release risk, testing gaps, and unresolved defects visible before launch.\n\nEstablishing repeatable QA practices that scale as the product and engineering organization grow.\n\nFirst 90 Days\nDays 1-30: Understand & Baseline\nLearn the product, architecture, release process, and critical user journeys.\n\nReview existing defects and customer-reported issues.\n\nAssess current automated and manual test coverage.\n\nIdentify flaky or unreliable tests.\n\nEstablish an initial quality baseline and identify the highest-risk areas.\n\nDays 31-60: Build & Improve\nAutomate priority regression scenarios.\n\nImprove existing automated test reliability.\n\nEstablish consistent defect reporting and verification practices.\n\nBegin participating in release-risk reviews.\n\nPartner with engineering to identify opportunities to prevent recurring defects.\n\nDays 61-90: Integrate & Measure\nIntegrate stable automated checks into CI/CD.\n\nEstablish repeatable release-quality checks.\n\nDemonstrate measurable progress against agreed quality targets.\n\nProvide recommendations for the next phase of QA automation and process improvements.\n\nReporting & Collaboration\nReports directly to the Head of Engineering as an individual contributor.\n\nWorks closely with Mobile, Web, Backend, Product, Support, and Trust & Safety teams.\n\nPartners with engineers throughout the development lifecycle rather than only testing at the end of a release.\n\nContributes to establishing quality standards and processes across the engineering
