This role combines hands-on iOS development with production ownership, technical problem-solving, and mentorship. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle-from technical design and implementation to testing, release, monitoring, and continuous improvement.\nYou’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the product while helping establish strong engineering practices that support scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.\nMission\nBuild polished, reliable iOS experiences that help users connect, create, and engage while continuously improving application architecture, performance, and development practices.\nSuccess in this role will include:\nDelivering roadmap features that meet agreed requirements and acceptance criteria.\n\nImproving crash-free usage and key application performance metrics.\n\nStrengthening automated test coverage across critical iOS user journeys.\n\nReducing recurring defects and improving release predictability.\n\nContributing to scalable, maintainable mobile architecture.\n\nHelping establish engineering standards and best practices across the mobile development team.\n\nCore Responsibilities\nOwn iOS features from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and production monitoring.\n\nBuild accessible, responsive, and reliable mobile interfaces using modern iOS development practices.\n\nDevelop and maintain integrations with APIs, authentication systems, local data storage, and background processes.\n\nDiagnose and resolve crashes, concurrency issues, memory problems, and performance bottlenecks.\n\nContribute to application architecture and improve development tools and processes.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, well-tested code.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.\n\nMentor other engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.\n\nParticipate in a defined production-support or on-call rotation.\n\nCollaborate closely with backend, Android, QA, Product, and Design teams.\n\nRequirements & Competencies\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience building and shipping native iOS applications.\n\nStrong experience with Swift and SwiftUI and/or UIKit.\n\nStrong understanding of the iOS application lifecycle, concurrency, networking, and API integration.\n\nExperience writing and maintaining automated tests for mobile applications.\n\nExperience diagnosing and resolving production issues, including crashes, memory problems, and performance bottlenecks.\n\nUnderstanding of mobile security, accessibility, application signing, CI/CD, and App Store release processes.\n\nAbility to independently design, develop, debug, test, and maintain production-quality software.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\n\nAI-Assisted Development\nExperience developing software both with and without agentic or generative AI coding tools.\n\nAbility to use coding assistants and AI agents effectively to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality.\n\nAbility to independently evaluate, debug, and validate AI-generated code.\n\nStrong accountability for the correctness, security, performance, and maintainability of all production code.\n\nUnderstanding of how to protect proprietary code, credentials, and sensitive information when using AI development tools.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building social, creator, community, or media-focused applications.\n\nExperience working with media-heavy mobile applications.\n\nExperience with real-time features, feeds, messaging, or content publishing.\n\nExperience with performance optimization and mobile observability.\n\nExperience working in a fast-paced product environment with frequent releases.\n\nExperience mentoring engineers or contributing to mobile engineering standards.\n\nFirst 90 Days\nDays 1-30:\nLearn the existing iOS architecture, development practices, product roadmap, and release process. Identify key stability, performance, and technical risks.\n\nDays 31-60:\nShip a tested feature or priority production improvement while establishing effective monitoring and validation practices.\n\nDays 61-90:\nImprove a key reliability or development bottleneck and collaborate with the team on a prioritized technical improvement plan.\n\nCollaboration & Reporting\nYou’ll report to the Mobile Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering and work closely with Android, Backend, QA, Product, and Design teams.\n\nThis is a senior individual contributor role with opportunities to influence technical decisions, mentor engineers, and contribute to the evolution of the mobile engineering organization.\n\nWhy Join?\nJoin a growing product team where your work will directly shape the mobile experience.
