This is a non-tenure track, part-time (less than 50 percent effort) position, and responsibilities are limited to teaching the courses listed in this posting.\nWhat you need to know\nSalary: Compensation is on a per-course basis and based on factors such as academic discipline, modality, faculty credentialing, etc. Minimum pay is commensurate depending on education and experience.\nSelected applicants may teach up to 7 undergraduate/graduatelevel Semester Credit Hours (SCH) in an assigned semester (less than 50% FTE), within the required discipline, as dictated by student demand during the hired semester.\nConsideration will be given to applications as curricular and student needs arise in the department. Adjunct positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester, and on an as-needed basis.\nResponsibilities:\nTeach up to 7 undergraduate/graduate SCH per semester (less than 50% FTE)\n\nMaintain and manage student records\n\nPost grades (assignments, mid-term & final) in a timely manner\n\nSubmit attendance reporting\n\nMentor and assist students\n\nPost and maintain office hours for a minimum of three (3) hours per week\n\nAttend student class orientation as needed (if required by the hiring department)\n\nAttend clinical/simulation/studio meetings as needed (if required by hiring department)\n\nOther duties as assigned by the department head\n\nFaculty Credentialing Requirements:\nUndergraduate Level: Faculty teaching baccalaureate courses require a doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate SCH in the teaching discipline).\n\nGraduate Level: Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework require an earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.\n\nPreferred Qualifications and Skills:\nPrior teaching experience at the collegiate level.\n\nKnowledge of online learning management systems.\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nAbility to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.\n\nSufficient knowledge of the subject area being taught.\n\nKnowledge of a variety of teaching methods to provide effective learning experiences.\n\nTechnical competence in appropriate subject matter and the ability to apply this knowledge to the solution of problems.\n\nUnderstanding of the learning and development processes of youth and adults.\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nAbility to multitask and work cooperatively with others.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and community members.\n\nAbility to use virtual technology and related software to support online teaching (if required by the hiring department).\n\nAdditional Posting Information\nThis is a general-purpose, adjunct faculty pool for use across multiple disciplines. Applicants in this pool may or may not be selected for employment for the current academic year. This pool will remain open until all adjunct vacancies have been filled.
