This is a non-tenure track, part-time (less than 50% effort) position, and responsibilities are limited to teaching the courses listed in this posting.\nWhat you need to know\nSalary: Compensation is on a per-course basis and based on factors such as academic discipline, faculty credentialing, experience, etc. Minimum pay is commensurate depending on education and experience.\nSelected applicants for the current academic year may teach up to 7 undergraduate/graduate level Semester Credit Hours (SCH) in an assigned semester (less than 50% FTE), within the required discipline, as dictated by student demand during the available semester(s).\nConsideration will be given to applications as curricular and student needs arise in the department. Adjunct positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester, and on an as-needed basis.\nResponsibilities:\nTeach practicum courses in area of specialty.\nWork collaboratively with the lead faculty in the implementation of Practicum courses.\nMaintain records as designed and structured.\nSubmit attendance and evaluation of the learners’ performance.\nSchedule and maintain weekly office hours and mentor students\nPost grades (mid-term & final); and follow-through in other duties as prescribed.\nOther duties as assigned by department head.\nFaculty Requirements:\nBachelor of Science in Nursing, and Master’s Degree in Nursing\nExperience and credentialing in one or the following specialty areas: Adult Health Nursing, Family Health Nursing, Mental Health, Community, and Leadership Management.\nPreferred Qualifications and Skills:\nPrior teaching experience at the collegiate level.\nDoctoral degree in Nursing\nKnowledge of online learning management systems.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nDemonstrated knowledge, skills, and service in nursing education and practice.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.\nAbility to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nSufficient knowledge of the subject area being taught.\nTechnical competence in appropriate subject matter and the ability to apply this knowledge to the solution of problems.\nUnderstanding of the learning and development processes of youth and adults.\nAbility to multitask and work cooperatively with others.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and community members.\nAbility to use virtual technology and related software to support online teaching (if required by the hiring department).\nKnowledge of a variety of teaching methods to provide effective learning experiences.\nRequired Licensure/Certification:\nCurrent license to practice nursing in the State of Texas or eligible to apply of licensure\nAdditional Posting Information\nThis is a general-purpose, adjunct faculty pool for use across multiple disciplines. Applicants in this pool may or may not be selected for employment for the current academic year. This pool will remain open until all adjunct vacancies have been filled.
