The position manages a portfolio of complex, university-wide projects and strategic initiatives that support Prairie View A&M University's Journey to Eminence 2035 Strategic Plan.\nWorking with executive leadership, project sponsors, initiative owners, and campus stakeholders, the role provides project planning, coordination, performance monitoring, and reporting for high-priority initiatives. The Project Manager IV translates strategic priorities into actionable plans, measurable outcomes, and practical next steps.\nThe position strengthens institutional effectiveness by improving coordination, communication, transparency, and accountability and contributes to priorities that advance student success, operational excellence, and the University's long-term goals.\nResponsibilities:\nStrategic Initiative Management\nGuide complex, university-wide projects and strategic initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.\nManage a portfolio of institutional projects aligned with University priorities and desired outcomes.\nDevelop and maintain project charters, implementation plans, timelines, milestones, performance measures, communication plans, and resource plans.\nMonitor progress, adjust project approaches as needs change, and maintain clear documentation and risk awareness.\nIdentify barriers, recommend solutions, coordinate activities, and track deliverables to support successful implementation.\nProject Governance and Portfolio Management\nSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of project governance and portfolio management practices that advance institutional priorities.\nEstablish and maintain project management standards, tools, processes, and reporting practices.\nMaintain a centralized project portfolio and coordinate intake, prioritization, scheduling, and resource planning.\nMaintain documentation and records to support project planning, execution, compliance, and reporting.\nProvide project sponsors and initiative owners with guidance, tools, best practices, and implementation support.\nPerformance Monitoring and Reporting\nDevelop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, executive reports, and project status updates.\nMonitor project performance, milestones, risks, resources, dependencies, deliverables, and outcomes.\nPrepare recurring progress reports and presentations for executive leadership and project stakeholders.\nAnalyze project data to identify trends, implementation challenges, opportunities, and areas requiring intervention.\nSupport accountability through project reviews, status meetings, and performance monitoring.\nStakeholder Engagement and Collaboration\nBuild collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners to support project execution.\nServe as a trusted partner to project sponsors and stakeholders by providing strategic and tactical project management support.\nFacilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to support alignment, accountability, and timely decisions.\nFacilitate meetings, workshops, reviews, and other engagements that support planning, execution, and continuous improvement.\nDocument decisions, action items, risks, and dependencies, ensure follow-up, and support change management activities.\nLeadership, Governance, and Accountability\nEstablish appropriate structure, processes, and accountability mechanisms to support successful project outcomes.\nPromote collaboration, continuous improvement, and results-oriented execution across strategic initiatives.\nEnsure project governance standards and reporting requirements are consistently applied.\nMonitor project performance and proactively address risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and implementation challenges.\nProvide executive-level reporting and recommendations that support informed decision-making and strategic execution.\nProcess Improvement and Organizational Effectiveness\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce duplication, and strengthen institutional processes.\nAssist departments in documenting workflows, clarifying responsibilities, and assigned.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Project Management, or a related field.\nNine (9) years of progressively responsible experience managing complex projects, programs, organizational initiatives, strategic priorities, or related work requiring project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and implementation oversight.\nExperience leading projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and cross-functional teams.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of project management, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement principles and practices.\nAbility to lead complex projects, manage competing priorities, and drive results in dynamic environments.\nAbility to influence, facilitate, build partnerships, and lead cross-functional teams.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging executive leadership, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.\nExperience developing project plans, timelines, budgets, documentation, reports, and performance dashboards.\nProficiency with project management, reporting, collaboration, and productivity tools.\nRequired Certification:\nEmployees hired without a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, or other approved project management certification must obtain an approved certification within twenty-four (24) months of hire.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProject Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, or other related project management certification.\nExperience supporting institutional transformation, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, or continuous improvement.\nExperience working in higher education or another large, complex organization.\nExperience using project or portfolio management platforms.\nFamiliarity with Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Six Sigma, or hybrid project management
