You’ll advise clients on their local tax affairs.Our team helps organisations with evolving payroll legislation and provides specialist knowledge to keep our clients compliant and informed. You’ll support our clients with knowledge and experience of operating various payrolls and help deliver a smooth and efficient service that enhances the value we provide our clients.\nAs an Associate, your role will offer you exposure to a high standard of tax payroll compliance work for a diverse client base.\nKey accountabilities\nResponsible for the end-to-end payroll processing for client batch headcounts, including data processing.\nPrepare and submit periodic statutory returns to the relevant authorities, including Income Tax, EPF, SOCSO, HRDF and Tabung Haji.\nPrepare and disburse approved net salary via electronic banking facilities to designated banks.\nIssue payslips.\nProvide payroll statutory compliance services, including preparation of annual tax forms for employers’ and employees’ annual tax filing (Form E and Form EA).\nPrepare relevant payroll reports for clients.\nRegister employers and employees with the relevant authorities, including the Employees Provident Fund, SOCSO and Inland Revenue Board.\nNotify the Inland Revenue Board of new employees and apply for individual income tax file numbers.\nProvide relevant advice to clients on applicable legislation in the capacity of a payroll specialist.\nManage client deliverables to ensure agreed timelines are met.\nFollow risk management and compliance procedures.\nInvite and give in-the-moment feedback in a constructive manner.\nShare and collaborate effectively with others.\nIdentify and suggest improvements when problems or opportunities arise.\nHandle, manipulate and analyse data and information responsibly.\nKeep up to date with developments in the area of specialism.\nCommunicate confidently in a clear, concise and articulate manner, verbally and in written materials.\nBuild and maintain internal and external networks.\nSeek opportunities to learn how PwC works as a global network of firms.\nUphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.\nKey working relationships\nClients supported through payroll services\nRelevant statutory authorities\nTax Payroll Services team and wider PwC network\nSkills, experience and qualifications\nDegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or another related field.\nOne to two years of relevant experience within the payroll domain.\nExperience in end-to-end payroll processing is an added advantage.\nExperience in an HR shared services, outsourced or business process outsourcing environment is preferred. Candidates with in-house payroll experience who have handled large headcounts are also encouraged to apply.\nGood knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, EPF, SOCSO, Income Tax and other statutory requirements.\nProficiency in payroll software applications, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.\nGood customer service orientation and a strong team-player mindset.\nA high degree of professionalism, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\nGood command of English, both spoken and written.\nPreferred skills\nDegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or other related fields\n\n1-2 years of relevant experience within the payroll domain\n\nExperience in end-to-end payroll processing is an added advantage\n\nPreferably with experience in a HR Shared Services, Outsourced or BPO environment.
