The Senior Manager will provide senior-level leadership across a portfolio of complex audit engagements. Working closely with engagement partners and directors, the role will oversee audit quality, resolve significant accounting and auditing matters, manage senior client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams. The position also contributes to portfolio management, talent development, market initiatives and the growth of PwC Pakistan’s assurance practice.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead a portfolio of complex audits and assurance engagements across various sectors including manufacturing, oil & gas, telecommunication, mining, banking and not-for-profit entities.\nSet engagement direction with partners and directors, challenge the audit strategy and ensure appropriate responses to significant, elevated and emerging risks.\nOversee key judgments and complex auditing and accounting matters, including expected credit losses, impairment, fair values, contract assets & liabilities, actuarial assumptions, consolidation, going-concern, and emerging financial products.\nReview critical audit documentation, financial statements, audit reports, regulatory returns, management letters and communications to audit committees and boards.\nLead consultations with technical accounting, methodology, risk and quality, independence, legal, actuarial, valuation, tax and technology specialists, ensuring conclusions are timely and appropriately documented.\nMaintain senior relationships with chief financial officers, finance leadership, audit committees, boards and other key stakeholders, providing clear insight while preserving auditor independence.\nAnticipate and manage engagement quality, acceptance and continuance, independence, delivery, reputation and commercial risks; escalate matters promptly to engagement leadership.\nOversee portfolio economics, resource deployment, scheduling, budgets, recoveries, billing and collection, and drive efficient delivery without compromising quality.\nDirect and develop managers and wider engagement teams through coaching, performance feedback, succession planning, technical guidance and on-the-job learning.\nSupport regulatory and group-auditor interactions, quality reviews and inspections, including timely preparation of robust supporting documentation and remediation actions.\nContribute to proposals, client account planning, thought leadership, market initiatives and development of audit and assurance opportunities within permissible independence boundaries.\nChampion audit quality, professional scepticism, ethical conduct, collaboration, innovation and consistent application of PwC policies and values.\nAcademic and Professional Qualifications\nQualified Chartered Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).\nMinimum six (6) years of post-qualification experience, substantially in external audit and assurance.\nDemonstrated experience leading complex audits and managing multiple engagements and a significant client portfolio in different sectors.\nRequired Knowledge and Skills\nAdvanced knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and International Standards on Auditing.\nStrong understanding of Pakistan’s regulatory environment, including relevant requirements of ICAP, SBP, SECP, AOB and applicable corporate and governance frameworks.\nProven ability to resolve complex technical matters, make balanced judgments, influence senior stakeholders and communicate effectively with boards and audit committees.\nStrong portfolio leadership, commercial awareness, negotiation, project management and resource-management capabilities.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams and to collaborate across assurance, tax, advisory and specialist functions.\nDigital mindset with practical experience using audit platforms, data analytics and technology-enabled procedures.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise, high-quality reports
