You will oversee high-quality accounting, tax compliance and advisory services, build trusted senior client relationships, develop team capability, strengthen PwC Private’s market presence and contribute to the team’s commercial performance and strategic direction.\nYour day-to-day could include:\nLead a portfolio of clients as a senior trusted adviser across accounting, tax compliance and business advisory matters.\nOversee and review statutory financial statements, income tax returns, indirect tax returns and other compliance outputs, ensuring technical excellence, quality and commerciality.\nLead accounting and tax advisory engagements, providing practical and commercially sound advice.\nSupport clients with management reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial modelling, board reporting, and systems and process improvement.\nBuild and strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities for additional support and contribute to the growth of the Private practice.\nTake accountability for engagement scoping, pricing, resourcing, workflow, work in progress, recoverability, billing and profitability.\nLead, coach and develop team members across multiple engagements, while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing culture.\nWork with Partners and senior stakeholders across PwC to deliver integrated client solutions and help shape the strategic direction of the business.\nChampion continuous improvement through new technologies, data-led ways of working and AI-enabled delivery.\nNgā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role\nA tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline. CA or CPA qualification is desirable.\nSignificant professional experience across accounting, tax and advisory services, ideally within professional services or a comparably complex commercial environment.\nStrong technical accounting capability, including substantial experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and tax returns.\nExperience leading accounting, compliance and advisory engagements for a diverse client base.\nA demonstrated ability to build and strengthen senior client relationships, together with the confidence to connect with potential clients and referrers in the market.\nProven people leadership, including coaching, mentoring and developing team members across multiple engagements.\nStrong commercial acumen across engagement planning, resourcing, workflow and financial performance.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, sound judgement, strong analytical and problem-solving capability, and high attention to detail.\nIf you don’t meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you.
