The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are now recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer.\nThe Senior Mechanical Engineer is a key role for the safe, reliable and compliant operations, through effective delivery of all mechanical systems and associated equipment across stipulated px operated sites within the UK and Europe. Effectively ensuring Compliance, safety, integrity, reliability and commercial considerations.\nYou’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.\nThe team support our sites both remotely and physically and there is frequent travel to the following places:\nStallingborough CHP, WELP, Energy Works Hull & TeesRep Biomass Plant\nYou may also be asked to do both long and short term secondments in the above places.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead mechanical engineering support across UK and European sites, ensuring asset integrity, reliability, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement.\nDevelop and implement mechanical engineering strategies, systems, and processes to achieve safe, compliant, and efficient operational performance.\nProvide technical guidance for shutdowns, projects, modifications, maintenance activities, and planned/unplanned operational events.\nManage engineering projects and change initiatives, ensuring compliance with project management and Management of Change (MoC) requirements.\nDrive safety, audit, and compliance activities, including investigations, risk reviews (HAZOP, LOPA, RBI), and safe working standards.\nSupport business growth and operational excellence through mentoring, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement initiatives, and specialist authorisation responsibilities (e.g., radiography, pressure testing, and excavations).\nMinimum Requirements\nDegree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in process, fuel terminal, refinery, or power generation environments.\nStrong background in maintenance, contract, outage/shutdown management, and operational procedures within a 24/7 operating environment.\nProven ability to deliver compliance, policies, and initiatives across functions while managing relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.\nExperience managing projects, budgets, KPIs, and developing business cases for capital and revenue investment.\nKnowledge of SHE and quality systems, maintenance management, process safety (HAZOP, LOPA, PSM), functional safety, audits, Management of Change, document control, and regulatory compliance.\nWhat you will receive from us\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\nContribution towards eye test and glasses\nOnline company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount\nLong Service Awards\nEmployee recognition scheme -
