Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.\nThe Security Install Technician is responsible for performing the installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. This role is fully functioning within core technical responsibilities and can complete standard installation jobs. The technician ensures systems are installed properly, meet customer expectations, and comply with applicable codes and standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:\nPerform installation, testing, and commissioning of intrusion alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and related low-voltage security systems.\n\nRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.\n\nInstall system components including devices, panels, wiring, and associated hardware according to project specifications.\n\nTest and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.\n\nTroubleshoot installation issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.\n\nUse hand tools and testing equipment to complete installation work efficiently and safely.\n\nComplete installation documentation, work orders, and project reports accurately and on time.\n\nCommunicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and project status.\n\nFollow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.\n\nTravel to job sites as required.\n\nOther duties as assigned by management.\n\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.\n\nValid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.\n\nStrong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.\n\nAbility to work independently and complete standard installation jobs without direct supervision.\n\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.\n\nExperience with commercial security systems and integrated low-voltage platforms preferred.\n\nManufacturer certifications in security or access control systems preferred.\n\nOther Duties:\nAdheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nPhysical Requirements & Work Environment:\nAbility to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.\n\nAbility to lift 50+ pounds.\n\nWork performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.\n\nExposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.\n\nUse of hand tools and testing equipment.\n\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.\n\nBenefits and Perks:\nExcellent pay\nMedical, dental, vision\nCompany paid life insurance\nCompany paid short-term disability\n401K with employer match\nPaid vacation and company holidays\nTraining and Career Development\nCompany vehicle (if job applicable)\nImmediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employees\nOur Commitment:\nPye-Barker is built on four core values - customer-bias, trust, respect, and commitment - that serve as the north star for how we conduct business within our community and across our branches.
