Pythian Careers\nWhat you will be doing:\nDesign and development of end-to-end Cloud-based solutions with a heavy focus on application and data, and a good understanding of infrastructure. \nWorking on complex and varied cloud-based projects including tasks such as collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing very large datasets etc. \nTranslating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed designs.\nWriting high-performance, reliable and maintainable code. \nDevelop test automation and associated tooling needed for the project.\nWork with project leads to understand testing requirements and lead creating/execution of test automation.\nDevelop test scenarios and test cases based on requirements. \nAnalyze potential issues, perform root cause analysis and assign issues to be resolved. \nFollow up with Engineering team members to see fixes through completion. \nReview bug descriptions, functional requirements and design documents, incorporating this information into test plans and test cases. \nPerforming data processing requirements analysis.\nPerformance tuning for batch and real-time data processing. \nSecuring components of clients’ Cloud Data platforms. \nDiagnostics and troubleshooting of operational issues. \nHealth-checks and configuration reviews. \nData pipelines development - ingestion, transformation, cleansing. \nData flow integration with external systems.\nIntegration with data access tools and products.\nFoundational CI/CD for all infrastructure components, data pipelines, and custom data apps. \nCommon operational visibility of the data platform from data platform infrastructure to data pipelines, machine learning apps. \nAssisting client application developers and advising on efficient data access and manipulations.\nDefining and implementing efficient operational processes.\nWhat we need from you:\nEight or more years in data engineering, with at least three years owning architecture and design decisions.\nProven hands on delivery. You should be able to point at platforms you designed and also built.\nDeep hands on experience with Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, and working knowledge of the other. Comfortable explaining where each one fits and where it does not.\nStrong Spark and SQL. Solid Python or an equivalent language used in production data work.\nExperience with Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and lakehouse patterns in production, not just in a demo.\nPower BI, including how the semantic model is built and where it should live.\nSolid dimensional and semantic modeling skills. You should have opinions about where business logic belongs and be able to explain why.\nWorking knowledge of data governance: classification, lineage, cataloging, and access control.\nCI/CD, version control, and testing practices applied to data work, not just to application code.\nWhat you will receive:\nLove your career: Competitive total rewards package.
