The role oversees program governance, stakeholder alignment, and adoption of Industry 4.0/5.0 solutions such as IoT, AI/ML, advanced analytics, automation, and digital twins. The position acts as a catalyst for cultural change, embedding digital ways of working to improve productivity, reliability, safety, and sustainability.\nKey Accountabilities - 1\nPolicies, Systems, Processes & Procedures\nEnsure compliance with relevant operational procedures and instructions. \nMaintain controlled, consistent execution of digital activities.\nDepartmental Reports\nPrepare high-quality, timely reports to support leadership oversight and decision-making.\nHealth, Safety and Environment\nUphold Qatalum’s HSE policies in all digital and operational initiatives. \nEnsure safe implementation of digital tools and technologies.\nQatarization\nSupport development and coaching of National employees.\nContinuous Improvement\nRecommend improvements aligned with global best practices and evolving standards.\nKey Accountabilities - 2\nProgram Strategy & Roadmap\nDevelop, maintain, and communicate the enterprise digital transformation roadmap.\nConduct market scans, benchmarking, and technology evaluation.\nGovernance & Portfolio Management\nEstablish PMO governance, steering mechanisms, and decision-gate processes.\nTrack KPIs (cost, schedule, benefits, risks) and report to senior leadership.\nPromote data-driven decision-making.\nStakeholder Engagement\nCollaborate with leaders across Operations, Maintenance, HSSE, IT/OT, and Administration.\nManage external vendors, partners, consultants, and integrators.\nDelivery Oversight\nCoordinate cross-functional workstreams such as data platforms, digital twins, automation, analytics, and change management.\nManage escalations and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.\nChange & Adoption\nLead communication, training, and digital literacy programs.\nPromote continuous learning through feedback loops and post-implementation reviews.\nFinancial & Risk Management\nDevelop business cases, budgets, ROI analyses, and benefits realization plans.\nIdentify risks and mitigation plans; ensure adherence to corporate, data, and cybersecurity policies.\nDigital Process Improvement\nAnalyse business processes and identify automation/digitization opportunities.\nRedesign workflows to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.\nData Management & Analytics\nImprove data availability, accuracy, and governance.\nLead dashboarding, reporting, and KPI digitization initiatives.\nDigital Tools Implementation\nEvaluate, select, and implement new digital solutions.\nOversee testing, user feedback, and continuous improvements.\nUser Training\nProvide user onboarding and troubleshooting support.\nDevelop training materials, guidelines, and documentation.\nProject Management\nLead digital projects from planning through execution and closure.\nManage risks, dependencies, and cross-functional coordination.\nCybersecurity & Compliance\nEnsure digital solutions follow security and compliance standards.\nPartner with IT Security to mitigate risks.\nInnovation & Long-Term Strategy\nScan emerging technologies relevant to aluminium smelting and heavy industry.\nSupport executive leadership in long-term planning and innovation initiatives.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work to be performed. Qatalum’s Management reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet business and organizational needs as necessary.\nMinimum Qualifications Required\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.\nMBA or Masters degree preferred.\nMinimum Experience Required\nMinimum 7 years of experience in program/portfolio management. \nMinimum 5 years leading digital transformation in heavy industry (aluminium smelter experience preferred). \nMinimum 5 years' experience in OT/ICS operations and maintenance. \nProven track record managing large scale technology programs. \nProfessional certifications: PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent.\nJob Specific Skills\nStrategic Thinking: Ability to convert strategy into actionable plans. \n Technical Acumen: Knowledge of IoT, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), AI/ML, analytics tools (Python, R, Power BI), MES, PLC/SCADA.\nLeadership: Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and cross-functional coordination. \nCommunication: Ability to communicate with executives, engineers, and frontline staff. \nFinancial Competence: Skilled in business case development and benefits realization. \n Change Management: Experience driving adoption at scale.\nCompetencies\nTechnical Support & Management -
