Senior Business Development Manager Companion Diagnostics & Precision Medicine

Location: Hybrid

Type: Full-time

Companion diagnostics is the fastest-growing corner of our diagnostics business and we're adding a second senior commercial seat to match . As our Senior Business Development Manager for CDx & Precision Medicine, you'll sell full launch programmes (not single projects) to pharma sponsors and IVD platform companies alike. If you speak IVDR and FDA co-review fluently, bring a real network, and would rather build a category than just a pipeline, this seat was built for you.

What’s in it for you?

  • Build a category, not just a pipeline. You will help shape how QbD goes to market in CDx and precision medicine; the offer, the messaging, the accounts, the partnerships.

  • Sell the whole solutio n. Regulatory strategy, performance evaluation, clinical, lab services, QMS, notified body support. You will design multi-service programmes with our consultants rather than passing single requests down the line.

  • A team, not a lone wolf. You will work alongside our existing CDx and MedTech commercial colleagues, share accounts, and split the market by strength rather than by postcode.

  • Real backing. 700+ experts across 8 countries in regulatory affairs, quality, clinical, lab services and toxicology, including the IVDR, performance evaluation and notified body specialists you will need in the room with you.

  • A fair, competitive package. Tailored salary and benefits built around your needs and local regulations, with a variable component that reflects the length and size of CDx deal cycles rather than fighting them.

What you’ll be doing

  • Sell solutions, not scopes. Diagnose the client's actual launch problem, then build the programme that solves it across multiple QbD services. Land, prove, expand. Our best accounts started as one project and became five.

  • Work both sides of the co-development. Pharma and biotech sponsors on one side, IVD and NGS platform companies on the other. The strongest opportunities come from being trusted by both, and from being the person who introduces them.

  • Lead consultative discussions on the questions that actually stall programmes: IVDR classification and Class C conformity routes, the Article 48(3) consultation with EMA or a national competent authority, notified body capacity and timing, FDA contemporaneous approval and CDRH/CDER co-review, analytical and clinical validation strategy, and what happens to an assay after the therapy launches in a new market.

  • Cover a global client base from a European base. Our CDx clients sit in the EU, US and increasingly APAC. You will run those relationships from Europe, travelling where it matters.

  • Turn regulatory change into pipeline. IVDR transition deadlines, shifting FDA positions on laboratory developed tests, and divergence between EU, US and APAC requirements are all commercial triggers. You spot them first and you get there first.

  • Run your pipeline with discipline. Accurate CRM, honest forecasting, clear stage definitions. Long cycles are not an excuse for vague ones.

  • Help build the practice. Feed market insight back into our CDx service portfolio, support proposal quality, and coach less experienced colleagues on solution selling. This role has influence beyond your own number.

  • Be visible where CDx happens; AMP, ESMO, AACR, MEDICA, precision medicine and IVD industry forums, notified body and regulatory working groups.

  • Travel to our Antwerp HQ monthly for team meetings, strategy sessions and internal collaboration. Where you are based in Europe is flexible.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of combined commercial and technical experience in diagnostics, IVD or precision medicine, with at least 3 years in a client-facing commercial or business development role. We care more about the credibility of your CDx exposure than about the ratio.

  • Genuine companion diagnostics fluency. You can hold your own on assay co-development timelines, bridging studies, cut-off determination, and why the regulatory pathway for a CDx is not the pathway for a standard IVD. You do not need to have run the lab. You do need to know what you are talking about.

  • A track record in solution or programme selling; multi-service, multi-stakeholder deals where you scoped the work with technical colleagues rather than quoting from a rate card.

  • A real, active network in pharma/biotech precision medicine teams, IVD manufacturers, or both. Names, not stories.

  • Working knowledge of both EU and US frameworks. IVDR and MDR on one side, FDA PMA and co-approval on the other. APAC awareness (PMDA, NMPA) is a plus, not a requirement.

  • A master's degree in a scientific or engineering field. Bio-engineering, biomedical sciences, biotechnology, molecular biology or similar.

  • You are based in the EU or UK and hold the right to work there. Comfortable operating across time zones, with roughly 25-35% international travel.

  • Fluent English. Any additional European language is welcome, not required
