My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. IT / FINANCE Responsibilities Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and reliable internal developer platforms for engineering teams. Develop self-service platform capabilities, APIs, automation and tools that simplify software development and deployment. Build reusable platform components and abstractions that enable engineering teams to work more efficiently and independently. Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools and established best practices. Manage and optimise container platforms and Kubernetes environments. Implement and maintain GitOps workflows for application deployment and infrastructure management. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, deployment and delivery. Implement monitoring, logging, metrics and distributed tracing to improve system visibility and reliability. Troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure and application issues to ensure system availability and performance. Apply cloud architecture best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles to platform
