client based in Tygerfalls, Cape Town is currently looking for a Quality Assurance Developer to join their team on a fixed term contract. \nIT / FINANCE \nResponsibilities \nAnalyse business requirements, user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria to identify testing needs and quality risks.\nDesign and maintain test cases, test scenarios, regression packs, and reusable test data.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications, APIs, and system integrations.\nExecute manual and automated testing to ensure application quality, functionality, and reliability.\nPerform API testing, database validation, regression testing, integration testing, and other relevant testing activities.\nIdentify, document, prioritise, track, and retest defects using appropriate defect management tools.\nSupport continuous testing practices and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release readiness assessments.\nIdentify opportunities to improve test coverage, increase automation, and reduce manual testing effort.\nCollaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and business users to clarify requirements and resolve defects.\nPrepare testing progress reports, quality metrics, defect trends, and release readiness updates for stakeholders.\nPromote continuous quality improvement and help prevent defects from reaching production.\nQualifications & Experience \nRelevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, Quality Assurance, or equivalent practical experience.\nMinimum 2-3 years' experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, or a related role.\nStrong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile methodologies, regression testing, integration testing, and defect management.\nPractical experience with test automation tools and scripting languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.\nExperience in API testing, database validation, test data preparation, and automated testing frameworks.\nFamiliarity with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, Azure DevOps, JIRA, JMeter, or similar technologies.\nExperience in functional, regression, integration, API, usability, performance, and data validation testing.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.\nExcellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.\nAdvantageous: \nISTQB Foundation or a related testing certification.\nExperience in insurance, financial services, or regulated environments.\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, performance testing, security testing, or cloud-based testing.\nExperience developing automated regression test packs and quality dashboards.\nCompetencies \nStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.\nHigh attention to detail and a structured approach to testing.\nGood understanding of test design, test automation, regression testing, and defect management.\nStrong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage testing activities effectively.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills when working with technical and business stakeholders.\nStrong documentation and reporting abilities.\nCommitment to software quality, accuracy, and defect prevention.\nTeam-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across different functions.\nContinuous improvement mindset with a
