client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a SAP Development and Integration Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. \nIT / FINANCE \nResponsibilities \nLead and manage the SAP Development and Integration team.\nSet individual and team objectives aligned with IT strategy and SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE) goals.\nConduct performance reviews, coaching, development discussions and succession planning.\nPromote accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.\nSupport employee engagement, wellbeing, retention and technical skills development.\nLead SAP development, integration, extension and automation across the hybrid SAP landscape.\nOversee development and integration activities across SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC HCM, SuccessFactors, SAP BTP and related platforms.\nGuide technical decisions between standard SAP configuration, released APIs, side-by-side extensions and approved integration patterns.\nDrive the modernisation of custom code, integrations and extensions in line with clean-core principles.\nPromote the use of SAP Integration Suite, API-led integration and event-driven architecture.\nEnsure secure and reliable connectivity between cloud-based and on-premise SAP systems.\nProvide technical guidance on ABAP, RAP, CDS Views, OData, Fiori, workflow and SAP BTP technologies.\nAssess opportunities for process automation and AI-assisted development where appropriate.\nPersonally undertake selected development and integration tasks when required.\nReceive, assess, prioritise and allocate JIRA requests across business-as-usual (BAU), project delivery, integration and technical debt.\nManage resource allocation and capacity across support, development, integration and modernisation initiatives.\nCoordinate stakeholder meetings to review priorities, progress, capacity and escalations.\nEnsure projects and technical requests are delivered within agreed deadlines and quality standards.\nMonitor technical issues and resolve defects across SAP applications, integrations, workflows and connectivity layers.\nEstablish and maintain SAP development standards and technical best practices.\nEnforce release, incident, change management, audit and security procedures.\nEnsure compliance with SAP CoE and BTP governance requirements.\nApply clean-core principles, secure-by-design integration and approved architectural patterns.\nSupport DevSecOps practices, controlled deployments and release management.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, knowledge transfer and operational handover.\nAdvise functional teams and business stakeholders on SAP solution options and technical feasibility.\nChallenge requirements where necessary to ensure solutions are practical, sustainable and fit for purpose.\nIdentify opportunities to improve system performance, integration reliability and development efficiency.\nMentor internal resources and strengthen the team's technical capabilities.\nPromote continuous learning across SAP cloud technologies, integration, security and AI-enabled development.\nQualifications & Experience \nBachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.\nRelevant SAP certifications in SAP BTP, Integration Suite, ABAP Development, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Build or SAP Business AI will be advantageous.\nMinimum of 7 years' experience in SAP development and integration, including ABAP and modern SAP integration technologies.\nMinimum of 3 years' experience working with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, preferably within a hybrid SAP or RISE with SAP environment.\nPractical experience with SAP Integration Suite / CPI-S, API Management, OData, REST, SOAP, IDocs, BAPIs and RFC integration.\nExperience with SAP BTP, Cloud Connector, secure hybrid connectivity and integration architecture.\nExperience with ABAP OO, RAP, CDS Views, SAP Fiori, UI5 and modern SAP extension techniques.\nExperience leading technical teams, managing workloads, prioritising backlogs and coordinating project delivery.\nExperience in release management, change governance, technical standards, stakeholder engagement and operational support.\nExperience with clean-core principles, custom-code modernisation, cloud migration and side-by-side extensions will be advantageous.\nExperience with SAP Cloud ALM, DevSecOps, source control, CI/CD and controlled transport management will be advantageous.\nExperience in financial services or another regulated enterprise environment will be advantageous.\nExposure to AI-assisted development, Joule for Developers and SAP Business AI will be beneficial.\nCompetencies \nStrong SAP development and integration expertise.\nGood understanding of SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and hybrid SAP environments.\nKnowledge of ABAP, ABAP OO, RAP, CDS Views, OData and SAP Fiori.\nUnderstanding of SAP Integration Suite, API Management and secure integration patterns.\nKnowledge of clean-core architecture, cloud extensibility and custom-code modernisation.\nUnderstanding of SAP governance, security, DevSecOps and release management.\nAwareness of AI-assisted development and SAP Business AI capabilities.\nStrong team leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.\nEffective workload planning, resource allocation and prioritisation.\nAbility to
