Join us as an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer at our Boscombe Down site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer, you’ll work within the E3 Team supporting the safe and effective conduct of specific test and evaluation activities relating (but not limited) to aircraft (civil and military), Land Platforms and their associated armament and electronic systems/equipment, working within project teams alongside other engineering disciplines.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be responsible to the Project Manager and Project Technical Lead for deliverables for each project to which you are allocated, which may be within Air, Land or Maritime Integrated Delivery Teams.\nThis role is within the Radio Frequency (RF) and Electronics Group, which has teams responsible for providing advice for air, land and sea platforms and systems. This covers the breadth of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), TEMPEST, Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar Cross Section (RCS) and Antenna Measurement, as well as providing design skills for the front-end of Radar and RF communications systems to support products and projects in a wide range of domains.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nWorking within the E3 Team supporting the safe and effective conduct of specific test and evaluation activities mainly with aircraft (civil and military) and Land Platforms\nProviding technical expertise in a customer facing and delivery focused environment\nUnderstanding customers’ problems and contribute to innovative solutions\nProviding continued technical engagement with key stakeholders\nProducing written documentation (including presentation material) of technical work in accordance with Project requirements\nIdentifying project technical risks and supporting project managers with their management\nEssential experience of the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer:\nKnowledge of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)/Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)\nUnderstanding of several E3 Technical areas e.g. EMF, HIRF, certification/qualification\nUnderstanding of fundamental electromagnetic (EM) theory\nKnowledge of DEF STAN 59-411 (MOD standard for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC))\nAbility to author test plans and technical reports\nSound knowledge of technical governance\nEssential qualifications for the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer :\nRecognised Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics qualification (at least HND level with relevant experience)\nElectrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics degree (desirable)\nEvidence of continued learning and development.\nFull UK driving licence\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.\nBoscombe Down\nMOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems.
