One Full-Time Permanent & One Full-Time Temporary 6 Month Contract\nAbout the Role\nThe Electronics Technician is responsible for the manufacture, repair, overhaul, integration, and acceptance testing of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies used in uncrewed vehicles and associated support equipment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDiagnosing and repairing electronics, manufacturing assemblies following build instructions and drawings, and installing new equipment, performing routine servicing and inspections, assisting with training, and electronic upgrades.\nManufacture and assemble electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, including soldering, crimping, wiring, harness assembly, and PCB integration.\nPerform functional testing, acceptance testing, and verification of electronic systems and sub-assemblies to ensure compliance with performance and quality requirements.\nSupport the final integration and system-level assembly of electronic subsystems within uncrewed vehicle platforms.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation including maintenance records, test results, service logs, and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) in accordance with company standards.\nConduct inspections of new builds, repairs, and installations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.\nSupport Engineering with the creation of acceptance test documentation, engineering memorandums and review of draft drawings and documentation.\nProvide technical guidance and support to team members and assist in training on the use, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing, testing, quality, and repair processes.\nEnsure all work is performed in compliance with company values, ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal policies.\nThis role may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving business priorities and may include additional responsibilities as required.\nSkill Requirements:\nEssential Skills:\nAbility to read, interpret, and work from technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.\nStrong understanding of electronic principles, components, and circuit behavior.\nExperience with electronic manufacturing and assembly processes, including soldering, crimping, wiring, harness assembly, PCBs, and connectors.\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve hardware and system-level electronic faults.\nStrong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and performing mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks.\nProficiency with computer systems, including document management software and Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as well as contribute effectively within a team environment.\nAbility to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight production and delivery schedules.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nWhat You Bring\nDiploma in Electronics Technician/Technologist program, military electronics training, journeyman certification, degree program, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\nHands-on experience using electronic test equipment and tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators)..\nAdditional desirable assets include:\nProven experience as an Electronics Technician or in a similar role.\nDegree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.\nFamiliarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610 or IPC/WHMA-A-620) considered an asset.\nAn understanding of ESD and associated control measures\nRelevant certifications in electronics or a related field are a plus.\nBasic familiarity with Linux operating systems in a test or operational environment (preferred).\nWork Experience:\n6-11 years working in a technical product environment\n4-7 years in complex systems or project engineering\nExperience in uncrewed systems, avionics, marine, vehicular military systems, and/or design of communication equipment.\nSecurity\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada security clearance required for the position\nMust be eligible for and maintain a clear background check, including criminal record screening, as required for security clearance\nWhy QinetiQ?\nWe offer a high-performing, inclusive work environment where you can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and be your authentic self.
