Join us as an Installation CAD Engineer at our Portsmouth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As an Installation CAD Engineer, you’ll primarily be employed in the Shore Integration Facility (SIF) and National Maritime Systems Centre (NMSC) at Portsdown Technology Park (PTP), Portsmouth.\nDay-to-day, you’ll produce Installation Guidance Packages which will be used by installation teams to enable them to install equipment into the facilities. You’ll be working with a small, dedicated Design team to assist with the installation and deinstallation of equipment into the SIF & NMSC where you’ll be answerable to the Control Systems and Electrical Engineer Team Lead.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nWorking with project managers to understand customer requirements and help create a plan to integrate the works necessary through the production and reviewing of (IGP’s) Installation Guidance Packages\nLiaising with the Electrical and Mechanical Fitting team to understand requirements for the design\nProduce CAD drawings and other installation documentation\nProduce CAD drawings to aid the installation of the equipment\nCreation of Electrical & Mechanical Drawings including (Not Exhaustive) room layouts, cable routes, wiring diagrams, cable data sheets and mechanical\nAdhere to the IGP KPI, which is a measuring tool to gauge the progress of the IGP Process\nEssential experience of the Installation CAD Engineer:\nAnalytical and investigative skills to turn basic requirements Information into a comprehensive Installation Guidance Package\nTo be able to create CAD drawings which are mainly 2D\nElectrical knowledge or competency\nExperience of the Maritime sector (or similar industries such as defence, aviation, Oil & Gas or Military background)\nProficient in AutoCAD and DraftSight software (desirable)\nEssential qualifications for the Installation CAD Engineer:\nAn Electrical/Mechanical Bias\nProficient in AutoCAD and DraftSight software\nExperience with Solid Works\n\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsmouth site.\nPTP\nPortsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services.
