Join us as an IT Infrastructure Engineer at our Farnborough or Rosyth site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and stabilising critical infrastructure systems that support complex maritime and defence programmes.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be working hands-on across server and virtualisation environments, helping to stabilise existing infrastructure while contributing to the design and build of next-generation systems.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nSupporting and delivering server and virtualisation infrastructure solutions across key projects\nMigrating and optimising environments into VMware-based virtual stacks\nCollaborating with network engineers to stabilise and improve infrastructure environments\nBuilding, configuring and integrating systems across physical and virtual platforms\nProducing technical documentation, test plans and implementation artefacts\nEngaging with stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers within the team\nVisits to the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre (BUTEC) in Scotland for 1 week every 2 to 3 months.\nEssential experience of the IT Infrastructure Engineer:\nStrong experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on server and virtualisation technologies\nHands-on experience with VMware and virtualised environments\nExperience working with Windows Server in complex environments\nProven ability to troubleshoot, stabilise and improve infrastructure systems\nExperience working in collaborative engineering teams and engaging with stakeholders\nAbility to take ownership, work autonomously and contribute to team success\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. \nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough or Rosyth site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. You will also be required to travel to the British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre (BUTEC) once every 2 to 3 months for essential installation and maintenance works.
