Join us as a Junior Cyber Security Engineer at our Farnborough site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As a Junior Cyber Security Engineer, you will work in a team that supports design, development & application of configuration security tools and monitoring for infrastructure.\nDay-to-day, you’ll review and investigate security events to identify root cause and required responses to reduce and mitigate any vulnerabilities.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nConducting daily SIEM health checks to ensure all devices are logging correctly and data flows remain stable\nMonitoring log volumes, identifying anomalies, and escalating service issues to the Service Delivery Team\nReviewing and triaging SIEM alarms, correlating alerts with known activities and investigating potential security incidents\nPerforming security investigations using SIEM tools and log analysis techniques to determine appropriate resolution actions\nProducing weekly and monthly security reports, including presenting findings and updates at Security Working Groups\nManaging analyst rota scheduling to maintain continuous PROMON coverage and operational effectiveness\nEssential experience of the Junior Cyber Security Engineer:\nPrevious experience working as a SOC analyst\nThe ability to apply critical thinking to analyse and solve problems as they arise\nPrior experience in a cyber security technical role\nUnderstanding cyber security, its significance, concepts, threats, vulnerabilities and assurance\nPrevious experience using SIEM tools and log analysis techniques\nEssential qualifications for the Junior Cyber Security Engineer:\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnboroughsiteand is fully on-site.\nFarnborough\nAt our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation.
