This also includes and focuses on the in-service product lifecycle including the Engineering Change Management, Obsolescence Management, and Configuration Management processes. The Engineering Support function also maintains the technical publications for Operation & Maintenance for internal and customer requirements.\nDeveloping with the project design team and production team the production build instructions, manufacturing, & integration processes; production quality test equipment requirements & procedures; and the configuration & plan as part of the transition from prototyping to first article to production. \nParticipating in the multi function team in evaluating processes and designs and proposing cost savings via design improvements and manufacturing process changes.\nUsing the Engineering Change Management process for EPR classification, and presentation to the Change Control Board for approval; development of the ECO through to ECNs and management of the engineering change implementation. \nPrinciple point of contact within engineering for technical assistance within the supply chain \nPrinciple point of contact within engineering for technical queries from internal and customers. \nPreparing, participating, and/or conducting internal training of staff on operational, maintenance and production changes. \nValidating production processes and build instructions by participating in first article builds. \nMonitoring, communicating and developing plans conjunction with the production operations team for approval for obsolescence management activities \nScope of work involves simple projects and basic engineering tasks \nAssistance and input planning their work tasks and other engineering support staff with management \nCreating or reviewing engineering technical publications including drawings, schematics, safety documentation, engineering reports & operational materials related to the overall system operation. \nAssignment and management of configurations for products including configuration baselines. \nProject team member for large system level project \nMainly critical deadline for subsystems \nSkill Requirements:\nEssential Skills:\nAbility to read, understand, and interpret and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and BOM. \nTechnical writing for reports, work instructions, safety documentation, and training material \nGeneral multi-discipline technical knowledge which can be applied to an overall system. \nAdditional Assets Skills:\nGD&T - Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerancing understanding for drawing interpretation, manufacturing validation, and tolerance-related production decisions. \nTechnical Project Management - including planning & scheduling tools (Project Insight, MS Project, etc.) \nBasic use and operations of Linux based computer systems \nPreparing material for or conducting product related training \nWhat You Bring\nEducation & Professional Membership:\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent. \nProfessional membership in APEGA, or eligibility for membership. \nWork Experience:\n5-7 years in Design, Development, and Manufacturing in a product-based environment. \nExperience in avionics, marine, vehicular military systems, and/or communication equipment. \nSecurity\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada security clearance required for the position\nMust be eligible for and maintain a clear background check, including criminal record screening, as required for security clearance\nWhy QinetiQ?\nWe offer a high-performing, inclusive work environment where you can thrive, contribute meaningfully, and be your authentic self.
