Join us as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at our Malvernsite, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of advanced embedded software for mission-critical navigation and sensing systems. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of software, systems and algorithm engineers, you'll help deliver robust, high-performance software that supports operational defence capability.\nDay-to-day, you’ll work across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis and software design through to implementation, integration and verification. You'll develop software for constrained embedded environments, collaborate closely with FPGA and hardware specialists, and take ownership of features and technical deliveries that contribute directly to customer outcomes\nYour responsibilities will include:\nDesigning and developing embedded C++ software for advanced defence and navigation systems\nTaking ownership of software features from concept through to delivery and acceptance\nCollaborating with FPGA, systems and algorithm engineers to integrate software with specialist hardware platforms\nApplying rigorous software engineering, configuration management and assurance processes\nSupporting system integration, verification and troubleshooting activities\nContributing to the continuous improvement of software architectures, tools and engineering practices\nEssential experience of the Senior Embedded Software Engineer :\nStrong commercial experience developing software in modern C++\nExperience developing software for embedded or resource-constrained platforms\nExperience designing and implementing complex software systems throughout the full development lifecycle\nKnowledge of software design methodologies, including UML or equivalent modelling techniques\nExperience working within structured engineering environments using configuration and change management processes\nProven track record of delivering technical solutions and taking ownership of work packages or product functionality\nExperience within GNSS, navigation, communications, aerospace, defence, electronic warfare or related high-integrity domains (desirable)\nEssential qualifications for the Senior Embedded Software Engineer:\nDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline\nOr equivalent industry experience demonstrating the required level of technical capability\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at ourMalvernsite with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.\nThe Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities.
