We deliver mission-critical services and systems to Defence, national security, and essential industry.\nOur determination to deliver and improve today, and anticipate and improve tomorrow, makes QinetiQ a very exciting and rewarding place to work and learn.\nIf you're driven by purpose, passionate about solving complex problems, and ready to make a real impact - there’s never been a better time to join us.\nWith a presence in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, and Germany, we bring global expertise to local challenges, helping build Australia’s sovereign industrial capability for the future.\nAs the result of an internal promotion, we are now taking applications for a suitably experienced Structural Integrity (SI) Engineering professional for a role within our Brisbane based operations.\nIn this permanent role, you will report to the Melbourne-based Team Lead - Structural Integrity Rotary Wing.\nAs a Senior Engineer in the Structural Integrity team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nSupporting the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP).\nApplying structural analysis and fatigue expertise in complex technical environments to assess asset condition, manage structural risk and inform engineering decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.\nPerforming structural conditioning monitoring, usage monitoring and fatigue management.\nConducting structural risk analysis, collecting data, incorporating it into routine reports and liaising with stakeholders.\nEstablishing forums as required to present findings and recommend actions to resolve issues.\nThis is an opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineers and technical specialists in a military engineering environment, solving problems that matter.\nAs an ideal applicant, you will present with:\nA tertiary qualification in mechanical, aerospace or structural engineering, or in a related discipline.\nExperience in structural integrity, stress analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics and damage tolerance or a closely related engineering field.\nExperience with finite element analysis and/or relevant structural analysis tools.\nThe ability to analyse and interpret technical data and translate complex analysis into clear engineering recommendations, having technical writing experience.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capability.\nExperience applying engineering standards, methodologies and analytical techniques to complex technical problems.\nStrong technical report writing and stakeholder communication skills.\nExperience within defence, aerospace, aviation, maritime or another highly regulated engineering environment will be highly regarded.\nDue to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence security clearance, NV1 minimum or have the ability to obtain one.\nWhilst applications must be made online, confidential enquiries are welcome and may be directed to Katrina Thorburn, Talent Acquisition Specialist, on mobile: 0475 922 069 or via email; \nApplications close on 13th November 2026\n#LI-Onsite\nAs the defence industry in Australia grows, it is an exciting time to join QinetiQ.
