Your work will help shape the future of quantum-enabled solutions, contributing to technical excellence and project success.\nDay-to-day, you'll undertake quantum engineering and systems engineering activities, supporting the delivery of technical projects from concept through to implementation. You'll apply your expertise in quantum sensing, navigation or computing, working within multidisciplinary teams to analyse problems, develop solutions, produce technical documentation, and support engineering decision-making. You will also have opportunities to lead small technical teams and contribute to the development of junior engineers.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nDelivering quantum engineering activities and technical work packages in support of project objectives\nLeading small technical teams and coordinating technical outputs\nProducing high-quality technical documentation, reports, plans and specifications\nApplying systems engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle\nIdentifying, assessing and escalating technical risks, issues and dependencies\nSupporting technical decision-making through analysis, modelling and engineering evidence\nEssential experience of the Senior Quantum Engineer:\nExperience in quantum engineering with a focus on quantum sensing, quantum navigation or quantum computing\nStrong understanding of relevant disciplines including physics, linear algebra, computational science or related engineering fields\nExperience applying systems engineering processes and methodologies across the engineering lifecycle\nAbility to develop technical documentation including requirements, specifications, reports and engineering plans\nExperience of technical analysis, modelling and problem solving within a complex engineering environment\nAbility to communicate technical information effectively and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary stakeholders\nEssential qualifications for the Senior Quantum Engineer:\nPostgraduate qualification in Physics, Quantum Technologies, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience\nEvidence of continuing professional development within a relevant technical discipline\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.\nThe Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities.
