Join us as a Senior Systems Engineer at our Farnborough, Malvern, Portsmouth or Bristol site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will join a team that develops and integrates nose ranging and tracking capabilities within Underwater Test and Evaluation delivering high quality systems engineering outcomes. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a very exciting defence challenge.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be delivering high-quality systems engineering outcomes supporting the UK’s ranging capability under the LTPA programme. This includes system architecture definition, concepts of operations, detailed system modelling, testing integration and even delivery to the range.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nApplying a systems engineering approach and delivering key engineering activities across significant projects\nEngaging with stakeholders, project managers and technical teams to meet customer and business requirements\nLeading technical teams, structuring workloads, reviewing outputs and managing junior systems engineers\nDefining and applying systems engineering processes including requirements engineering, system design and support\nDelivering technical documentation, reporting progress and escalating major technical issues where required\nApplying relevant regulatory, safety and technical standards to ensure compliance\nEssential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer:\nSound understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle processes and wider engineering management considerations\nProven experience determining suitable systems engineering approaches while considering enterprise, political and acquisition factors\nTrack record of applying relevant systems engineering techniques to support effective project delivery\nPrevious experience defining required engineering outputs including management plans, product descriptions and test reports\nProven ability anticipating potential problems, understanding wider impacts and determining appropriate solutions\nExperience demonstrating strong understanding of requirements, specifications and system design alongside effective negotiation and presentation skills\nEssential qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer:\nDegree level qualification or equivalent\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.\nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough, Malvern, Portsmouth or Bristol site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.\nWhy Join QinetiQ?\nAs we continue to grow into new markets around the world, there’s never been a more exciting time to join QinetiQ.
