The MakerSpace Site Supervisors will competently perform a wide variety of structured tasks with limited scope and complexity by applying principles and concepts to a range of work assignments within the MakerSpace environment.\nThe opportunity\nAs a Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:\nThe day-today operation of the MakerSpace site in accordance with current policy, procedure or direction from the MakerSpace Program or Operations Manager, including administration and reporting tasks\nSign in, induction and authorisation of all users in accordance with current policy and procedures\nMaintaining the safety and management of MakerSapce users\nForecasting consumables in accordance with Governance with Procurement Manager’s guidance\nThe collection, stock take and storage of procured materials\nManaging all preventative and required maintenance of site equipment\nLiaising with local Commonwealth units to promote MakerSpace capability\nThe delivery of formal and informal user training\nDelivery of MakerSpace programs and MakerSpace course content, supporting delivery at remote sites as required\nTo be successful in the position of Site Supervisor, you will need to bring with you:\nDemonstrated technical experience in electronics, IT, electrical, fitting and machining or in mechanical trades (or similar)\nExperience working on design and prototyping unique solutions or low-rate production runs\nExperience with any of the following: Laser CNC, 3D printing, VR/AR dev, software programmable kits, smart applications, and general prototyping\nDemonstrated ability to manage the operation of fabrication machines and associated software\nAbility to research and select of the shelf software solutions in order to make timely project recommendations regarding necessity, purchasing, and deployment\nWell developed computing skills inclusive of an intermediate level of MS Office and CAD experience\nAn ability to effectively track multiple simultaneous projects and ensure the progression of all in an efficient and timely manner\nAn ability to coach and mentor others to achieve project requirements\nRecent graduates from relevant STEM disciplines such as engineering, industrial design, or similar fields are welcome to apply.\nDue to the nature of the role, applicants must hold an Australian Defence security clearance, Baseline minimum or have the ability to obtain one.\nWhilst applications must be made online, confidential enquiries are welcome and may be directed to Roz Byrne, People Partner via email; \nApplications will close on Friday 16th October, 2026.\nLooking for an Employer with Benefits?\nAt QinetiQ, our competitive remuneration and benefits package supports your evolving needs throughout your career.
