Join us as a Systems Engineer at our Amesbury site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.\nThe Role\n As a Systems Engineer, you’ll provide systems engineering support to QinetiQ aerospace projects and programmes covering a wide range of air platforms including UAS. The role will involve a range of aerospace technologies and domains from avionic systems through flight performance to design modifications. The role holder will be required to technically lead small projects ensuring application of correct processes, methods and tools.\nDay-to-day, you’ll work as a member of a Systems/Project Engineering team, assisting with the leadership and management of engineering and technical teams to deliver aerospace domain engineering outputs that meet the customer’s requirements.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nEnsuring delivery of integrated technical activities to contracted time, cost and quality\nEnsuring a consistent approach to the integration of engineering outputs to meet the overall project objectives\nEnsuring consistency of technical processes, methods and tools in accordance with the QinetiQ BMS to meet customer requirements\nAssisting with the coordination of bids and estimates, generation of Technical Delivery Plans and work breakdown structures to support project cost plans and bids\nAssisting with the identification of project technical risks and assisting the Project Manager with the management of them\nEffective capture and analysis of customer requirements\nEssential experience of theSystems Engineer:\nWorking knowledge of general Systems Engineering principles\nAerospace or related engineering background\nTechnical experience throughout the air vehicle life cycle\nKnowledge of aircraft certification and systems design\nAbility to make sound judgements on technical solutions\nExcellent people management and communication skills\nEssential qualifications for the Systems Engineer:\nRecognised aerospace related learning to at least HNC standard or equivalent\nEngineering degree (desirable)\nWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. \nThis role is 37 hours per week based at our Amesbury (Boscombe Down) site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.\nBoscombe Down\nMOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems.
