As a senior member of our Internal Audit team - the organization's third line of defense - you will lead compliance-focused audit missions across our nine European markets (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Serbia, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Netherlands), operating under the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards and reporting to our Head of Internal Audit.\nWhat you'll do\nLead audit missions: Own compliance audit initiatives in collaboration with the internal audit team and external providers to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations;\n Participate in centralised process audits: Contribute to Group-wide audit missions on centralised processes led from headquarters (fraud management, operational risk, etc.);\nCoordinate internal and external auditors: Coordinate and oversee Qonto’s internal auditors and work closely with external firms brought in for specialist expertise where needed.\nDrive recommendation follow-up: Ensure timely implementation and monitoring of audit recommendations, escalating where needed;\nContribute to the risk-based audit plan: Support the Head of Internal Audit in the annual risk assessment on compliance topics, feeding into our multi-year, risk-based audit plan.\nWhat we're looking for\n Internal audit expertise in banking: Solid experience in internal audit within banking or payment institutions, with a track record of leading audit missions (CIA certification a plus);\n Compliance expertise: Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions screening, FATCA/CRS, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and related regulatory frameworks for banking/payment institutions (ACAMS certification a strong plus);\nIndependent leadership: Comfortable working autonomously, leading missions, and managing relationships with external providers and senior stakeholders;\nClear communication: Skilled at conveying audit findings clearly, from operational staff to senior management and governance bodies;\nCritically independent: Strong critical thinking to identify inefficiencies and discrepancies independently; confident in holding and defending your positions;\nLanguages and location: Fluent in English and French required; based in Paris or Milan.\nWhat we can offer you\nReal scope, real mandate: Work across all nine of Qonto's markets with no scope limitation, on a function that reports directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors\nFront-row seat on a defining milestone: Contribute to a pivotal moment in Qonto's history as we pursue our credit institution license, with compliance topics at the heart of that transition;\nSeniority and autonomy: Lead your own missions with significant independence, while shaping how compliance audit is done at Qonto;\nCross-functional exposure: Partner with Compliance, Risk, local stakeholders, and various Qonto departments across markets;\nComprehensive Insight: Gain an extensive understanding of Qonto’s activities and departments.\nYour future manager\nYour manager will be Catherine Soria our Head of Internal Audit:\nTheir background?Catherine joined Qonto in March 2024, bringing over 12 years of experience in the banking sector, with a strong focus on retail and corporate banking and payment services.
