We are supporting the executions of our insurance programs on a daily basis by ensuring that all our partners have access to fresh and reliable data.\nWe are seeking a mid/senior data engineer to strengthen our data capabilities. You will be in the driver's seat for implementing data reports, from prototyping to production, while always ensuring that your technical solutions align with the best engineering practices.\nOur data stack (high-level): airbyte - bigquery - opencode - dbt - python - Looker\nYour tasks and responsibilities\nYour main objective is to develop and maintain scalable and clean data financial reports to support the launch and execution of our insurance programs. We expect you to:\ndevelop, maintain and improve our dbt data pipelines that support the day-to-day operations of our embedded insurance programs\n\npropose and implement a robust data model that can cope with the specificities of insurance data and require little modification to support the launch of the new products\n\nmake sure that the data is delivered timely to our partners\n\nrun quality assurance checks to ensure data consistency across data deliverables\n\nleverage synergies across our data sources to limit the number of tables in our BigQuery data warehouse, and avoid that our databases turn into a data maze\n\nFurther develop our data governance through\nextensive testing ( data tests, unit tests, anomaly detection)\n\nsufficient data documentation\n\ncontrolled data access\n\nclear data lineage\n\nmake sure that our partners' data stay secure and private, one of our top priorities\n\nIn addition, you will be a key technical contributor to the data space at Qover. You will leverage your expertise on various topics to:\nPush our data architecture to the next level. This includes a constant review of our data model and data warehouse design.\n\nUpskill the team by evangelizing good practices through code reviews and dedicated sessions\n\nEducate and help business users to become data-savvy\n\nYour qualifications:\nAt least 3 years of experience in SQL and data modelling\n\nMaster's degree in STEM is preferred but not a hard requirement\n\nLeverage AI agents to speed-up code development, testing and delivery\n\nExperience in dbt is highly desirable\n\nFluent in python\n\nYou are familiar with the modern data stack\n\nExperience with git, bash, CI/CD and docker\n\nYou have already delivered software products with unit and integration tests\n\nYou have experience working with cloud services, and more specifically with serverless data warehouses.\n\nExcellent communication and presentation skills and fluent in English\n\nProficiency in Dutch is a plus\n\nWhile you always want to keep up with market trends and best practices, you are also pragmatic. You feel comfortable trading technical elegance to be able to speed up the pace of delivery\n\nWilling to work in fast-paced environment and able to cope with time pressure\n\nAutonomous, you are also hands-on with a strong team spirit\n\nYou are proactive and self-driven. You need minimal supervision and welcome changes.
