You will write and ship backend software - primarily in Rust - that moves quantum entropy and keys, powers our entropy-as-a-service platform, and makes our appliances work reliably at scale. You will use AI-assisted development tooling as a core part of how you work, while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship.\nWhat you'll do\nDesign, build, and test backend services and APIs, primarily in Rust, with some C++ and Python.\n\nWork on the software that delivers quantum entropy and keys reliably and securely.\n\nWrite well-tested, maintainable code and participate in design and code review.\n\nUse AI-assisted and agentic development tooling to accelerate your work while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship.\n\nHelp shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development (instruction conventions, review standards) as the tooling matures.\n\nDevelop an understanding of the domain (quantum random number generation, cryptography, network security) to build and validate our products.\n\nCollaborate with hardware, product, and other engineers to ship end-to-end.\n\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and/or relevant work experience.\n\n3+ years building and shipping backend software.\n\nProficiency in Rust, or strong systems-programming experience (C, C++, Go) with a demonstrated ability and eagerness to work primarily in Rust.\n\nWorking familiarity with C++ and Python.\n\nSolid grasp of backend fundamentals: APIs, services, concurrency, testing, and Linux.\n\nFluency with AI and agent-assisted development, and the judgment to apply it where it adds real leverage - reviewing, correcting, and taking full ownership of AI-generated work.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.
