You will lead the design and development of backend software - primarily in Rust - that moves quantum entropy and keys, powers our entropy-as-a-service platform, and makes our appliances work reliably and securely at scale. You will use AI-assisted development tooling as a core part of how you work, own the correctness and quality of what ships, and help set how the team engineers in an AI-native way.\nWhat you'll do\nLead the design, development, and testing of backend services and APIs, primarily in Rust, with some C++ and Python.\n\nOwn significant parts of the backend end to end: architecture, implementation, reliability, and performance.\n\nMake and document design tradeoffs; raise the bar on code quality, testing, and review across the team.\n\nWork close to the metal on the software that delivers quantum entropy and keys reliably and securely.\n\nUse AI-assisted and agentic development tooling to accelerate your work while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship.\n\nHelp shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development (instruction conventions, review standards) as the tooling matures.\n\nDevelop deep domain understanding (quantum random number generation, cryptography, network security) to architect and validate our products.\n\nMentor other engineers and collaborate across hardware, product, and engineering to ship end-to-end.\n\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and/or relevant work experience.\n\n6+ years building and shipping backend software, including ownership of services end to end.\n\nExpertise in Rust, or deep systems-programming experience (C, C++, Go) with a demonstrated ability to work primarily in Rust at a senior level.\n\nWorking proficiency with C++ and Python.\n\nStrong command of backend architecture: APIs, services, concurrency, reliability, performance, and Linux.\n\nFluency with AI and agent-assisted development, and the judgment to apply it where it adds real leverage - reviewing, correcting, and taking full ownership of AI-generated work. This is core to how we operate at Qrypt and is expected of everyone here.\n\nA track record of technical leadership: design decisions, mentoring, and raising engineering standards.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.
