This person is responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service and repair of plumbing, piping, and other building and print production support equipment.\nThe Maintenance Technician - Building is responsible for repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems on walk-in coolers, icemakers, and air dryers for air compressors, air compressors, vacuum pumps, electric motors, belt drives and mechanical couplings. This position requires familiarity with building control systems including Alerton and Talon/Invensys, and a good understanding of chillers and chill water systems, chemical treatment and water softeners, as well as experience working with overhead doors, fire doors, dock equipment, rail dock equipment, toilets, urinals, drain cleaning, tracing the origin of roof leaks, and temporary repairs. Contribute to an accident-free work environment by complying with all company rules and regulations\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or GED\nCompletion of a maintenance program at a vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program in general mechanical maintenance\nExperience\nMechanical or industrial maintenance experience\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nPossess basic welding, soldering and metal fabrication skills\nInterpret and work from blueprints, mechanical drawings and sketches\nPossess good oral, reading and writing skills for effective communication\nMechanic must furnish their own basic set of mechanic hand tools\nMust know how to properly operate and maintain power tools to keep them in safe working order at all times\nPhysical Demand Requirements\nManual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance.\nPhysical Effort: Work requires handling light weight materials or equipment with no special speed or exertion.\nWorking Conditions: Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features.\n Hazards: Negligible.
