Now and for generations to come.\nQuadReal: Excellence lives here.\nwww.quadreal.com\nRole Description:\nReporting to the Mechanical Operations Manager (or General Manager), the Mechanical Technician is an intermediate-level building technician responsible for providing operational maintenance and technical support as part of the building operations team. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that Oakridge Park’s mechanical and electrical systems are managed and maintained safely, sustainably, and to the highest operational standards. The position may require occasional evening, weekend, and on-call work as part of a rotational schedule.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist trades, contractors, and building management with maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.\nInstall, repair, and maintain climate control and other mechanical systems within the building or portfolio.\nOversee preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, Building Automation System (BAS), plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, water treatment, generators, and fire/life safety systems.\nConduct environmental assessments and prepare related reports.\nParticipate in the corporate occupational health and safety program.\nManage waste, recycling, and hazardous materials processes.\nMonitor computerized control and maintenance management systems.\nRespond to tenant service requests in a timely manner.\nSupport insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions, and reporting.\nStay current with industry practices, legislative changes, and emerging technologies.\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nExperience and Qualifications:\nValid driver’s license in good standing; clean driver’s abstract required.\nIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Building Automation System (BAS), and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nLevel 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification is an asset but not required.\n4th Class or 5th Class Power Engineer \nTechnical Certificate (C.Tech. or A.ScT.).\nJourneyman Tradesperson (or 3rd/4th year apprentice)- Electrician, Plumber, HVAC/Refrigeration.\nRelevant certificate in building automation and controls, low voltage, plumbing, HVAC, etc.. with maintenance experience in Office, Retail, and/or Residential facilities.\nCommunicates effectively with all levels of the organization. Professional, self-motivated team player with strong ethics and commitment to growth.\n Manages time well, meets deadlines, and adapts to changing priorities. Works effectively under pressure, including in emergency or conflict situations. May perform work in varied conditions, attend after-hours emergencies, and join a rotational on-call schedule. Able to exert moderate physical effort, respond quickly in emergencies, and lift up to 50 lbs as part of essential duties.
