You will work closely with firmware, driver, hardware, systems, and test teams to implement Wi-Fi features, optimize performance and power consumption, and resolve customer and product issues across embedded wireless platforms.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain WLAN firmware modules in C/C++ for embedded wireless SoCs.\nParticipate in feature development for IEEE 802.11 standards including Wi-Fi 6 (11ax) and Wi-Fi 7 (11be).\nPerform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of firmware components.\nAnalyze and resolve firmware, protocol, interoperability, and performance issues.\nWork with driver, systems, and validation teams to bring up and validate wireless features.\nInvestigate customer-reported issues and provide timely fixes.\nSupport firmware performance tuning, power optimization, and stability improvements.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to firmware design discussions.\nDevelop debug tools, logs, and automation scripts to improve development efficiency.\nDocument design, implementation, and validation results. \nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.Required Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\nStrong programming skills in C/C++.\nUnderstanding of data structures, operating systems, and computer architecture.\nFamiliarity with embedded systems and firmware development concepts.\nBasic understanding of networking fundamentals and wireless communication.\nStrong analytical and debugging skills.\nGood written and verbal communication skills. \nPreferred Qualifications\nKnowledge of Wi-Fi standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).\nExposure to RTOS, Linux kernel, or embedded software development.\nUnderstanding of WLAN MAC/PHY concepts, power management, and protocol behavior.\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python.\nFamiliarity with firmware debugging tools, JTAG, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers.\nExposure to WLAN performance, coexistence, power, or connectivity testing\nDesired Competencies\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.\nAbility to work in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment.\nPassion for wireless technologies and continuous learning.\nOwnership, accountability, and attention to detail.\nEffective collaboration with global engineering teams.\nExample Areas of Work\nGiven your WLAN organization context, an Associate Engineer may work on:\nWLAN MAC feature development\nAggregation (AMPDU/AMSDU) enhancements\nScan, connect, roaming, and power-save features\nWi-Fi 6/6E/7 feature enablement\nThroughput and latency optimization\nCoexistence (BT/WLAN) improvements\nMission-mode validation and debug\nFirmware logging and diagnostics\nCustomer issue triage and root-cause analysis\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
