In this position, you will contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of Qualcomm’s compute platform BSP solutions while working closely with customers, OEMs, and enterprise partners. You will play a key role in enabling and optimizing Windows and Linux software stacks, driving BSP bring-up and platform validation, and providing hands-on technical, post-sales support. Through direct customer engagement, you will support technical enablement, issue resolution, and successful deployment of Qualcomm compute platforms across a variety of use cases and products.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBSP Engineering\nDrive BSP bring-up and validation on Qualcomm compute platforms for both Windows and Linux environments.\nDevelop, integrate, and maintain board support packages including bootloaders, kernel drivers, and platform firmware.\nCollaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to triage and resolve platform level stability and compatibility issues.\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts and tools for testing, log analysis, and system validation.\nDocument BSP configurations, known issues, and resolutions to support internal knowledge sharing and customer engagement.\nField Application (FA) Engineering\nProvide direct technical post-sales engagement with enterprise customers, OEMs, and ODMs on compute platforms.\nSupport IT requirements, pre-test/evaluation, issue debugging, and issue management for enterprise and OEM customers.\nAssist with image deployment, updates, and configuration support on customer platforms.\nConduct OEM platform pre-validation and direct OEM/ODM technical engagement.\nReport bugs and platform issues back to internal engineering teams and help drive resolution.\nSupport documentation, tools, and training materials for customers and partners.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\n2-6 years of hands-on experience in Windows and/or Linux BSP development on compute or embedded platforms.\nExperience with low-level software development including bootloaders (e.g., UEFI, U-Boot), device drivers, and kernel modules.\nProficiency in C and/or C++ programming. •\nSolid understanding of hardware-software interaction, memory management, and platform bring-up processes.\nQuick learner with adaptability to new technologies.\nComfortable in English communication (spoken and written).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Windows Driver development (WDK/KMDF/UMDF) or Linux kernel driver development.\nFamiliarity with ACPI, device tree, and platform configuration for compute platforms.\nExperience with debugging tools such as WinDbg, JTAG/T32, gdb, or serial console debugging.\nKnowledge of UEFI/EDK2 firmware development or customization.\nProficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for test automation and log analysis.\nExperience in customer-facing FA or CE (Customer Engineer) roles supporting enterprise or OEM/ODM customers.\nExperience with application compatibility testing and IT deployment/configuration troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with enterprise IT environments and Windows on Snapdragon (WoS) ecosystem is a strong plus.\nExperience with Qualcomm Snapdragon compute platforms is a strong plus.\nExposure to virtualization, hypervisor, or multi-OS environments is a plus.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a sense of ownership and accountability.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.\n1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\n• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
