Applies high-performance microprocessor design concepts including multi-core, multi-threaded, out-of-order, cache memory, high-speed ALU, and advanced low power design. Evaluates all aspects of the design process from instruction set architecture to implementation. Custom instruction set is needed to achieve industry-leading results in machine learning and modem. Applies tools and techniques to evaluate design tradeoffs and verify design correctness. Uses system tools such as architectural simulators, digital design simulators and emulators, test generators, and design synthesis.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.\n• 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design.\n Preferred Qualifications:\nMaster's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.\n10+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems.\n10+ yearsof experience indesign verification methods.\n4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.\n4+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports(only applies to positions with direct reports).\n3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).\n Principal Duties and Responsibilities:\nInfluences the organization by sharing a strategic vision and develops methodologies as a domain expert; directs and coordinates works across organizational teams to achieve corporate goals and develop highly complex blocks, features, architecture, plans, schedules, and/or tests to ensure desired quality and design completeness, functionality, power, performance, and timing standards; recommends and drives improvements.\nApplies deep and broad knowledge when leading a team to anticipate and identify highly complex architecture and design problems and provides innovative recommendations to others for resolution; provides strategic consultation and collaborates with leadership of other teams to develop and execute design plans.\nGuides team to leverage research on industry trends, competitors' products, and advances in various engineering fields related to DSP products and technology (e.g., machine learning, modem), shares expertise within and across teams.\nLeverages deep technical expertise to identify trends and define future solutions by contributing to discussions on the short- and long-term strategic direction of the product/technology roadmaps.\nGuides team members within and across teams to develop clear and detailed technical documentation using written, verbally, and online communications; also reviews documentation and provides feedback to ensure it can be easily understood by a variety of audiences.\n Level of Responsibility:\nWorks independently with no supervision.\nProvides supervision to direct reports.\nDecisions are more significant in their impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives. Errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; Errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.\nRequires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
