Role Overview

At Qualcomm Canada, our MSIP Silicon Validation team is looking for validation engineering interns interested working on the most cutting-edge wireline technologies in the world.Under the supervision of experienced engineers, the intern will contribute to the validation of High-Speed SerDes and Die-to-Die IP Prototypes critical for Qualcomm products.No previous background of silicon validation is required.

Responsibilities may include:

• Characterizing analog blocks and performing PHY/Link Layer/Protocol compliance against various industry standards such as PCIe, Ethernet and UCIe
• Bringing up silicon, debugging issues, presenting test results, and generating validation reports
• Defining test plans and developing test methodologies for various tests
• Developing and standardizing test scripts for various tests and automating test equipment
• Determining equipment and accessories needs for various tests
• Studying signal integrity and power integrity for evaluation boards and for silicon
• Developing and automating a robotic handler to do regression and volume validation and develop scripts to automate data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and multimeters

• Relevant academic or personal project experience

• Relevant industry experience (internship, summer work, or others)

• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell)

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Education Requirements:

• In study towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related field

• For 16-month internships: must be available May/June 2027 - August/September 2028

• Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.

• 1+ years of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, etc

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
