We are seeking an experienced Memory System Validation lead to define and execute validation strategies for custom high-bandwidth memory subsystems integrated with large-scale AI compute platforms.\nIn this role, you will lead pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of next-generation stacked memory solutions, driving memory bring-up, performance characterization, stress validation, reliability analysis, debug, and production readiness across the product lifecycle.\nThe ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in DDR/HBM technologies, memory controller architectures, silicon bring-up, and system-level debug.\nKey Responsibilities\nMemory Bring-Up & Validation\n·Own end-to-end HBM validation strategy from emulation through production silicon.\n·Develop comprehensive validation plans covering:\noMemory initialization\noTraining flows\noPower-state transitions\noReliability testing\noError recovery mechanisms\noManufacturing diagnostics\noReliability & RAS Validation\n·Drive Pre-silicon memory bring-up\n·Drive first-silicon memory bring-up and root-cause analysis of failures.\nSystem-Level Validation\n·Validate interaction between:\noHBM\noAI accelerators\noCompute fabrics\noCache hierarchy\noNoC infrastructure\n·Develop stress scenarios representing real-world AI workloads.\nDebug & Root Cause Analysis\n·Lead complex silicon debug efforts.\n·Analyze crashes, hangs, data corruption, training failures, and performance bottlenecks.\n·Collaborate with:\noMemory architecture teams\noPHY teams\noFirmware teams\noPackage and SI/PI teams\noAI software teams\nAutomation & Methodology\n·Develop scalable automation frameworks for memory validation.\n·Build telemetry, analytics, debug, and performance-monitoring tools.\n·Leverage AI-assisted validation and debug methodologies to improve productivity and coverage.\nRequired Qualifications\nBS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n8+ years of experience in memory validation, silicon validation, or platform bring-up.\nStrong understanding of:DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5/LPDDR6 architectures\nHBM technologies\nMemory controllers\nPHY architectures\nCache and coherency systems\n\nExperience with:Pre-silicon validation\nFPGA platforms\nPost-silicon bring-up\n\nStrong debugging skills using:Logic analyzers\nProtocol analyzers\nPerformance counters\nFirmware traces\n\nProgramming experience in Python, C/C++.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior experience validating:HBM2, HBM3, HBM3E, Advanced stacked-memory technologies\n\nExperience with AI accelerator, GPU, HPC, or server-class platforms.\nFamiliarity with: NoCs, Chiplets, Coherent interconnects\nKnowledge of:Signal Integrity (SI)\nPower Integrity (PI)\nThermal characterization\nPackage-level interactions\n\nExperience defining validation methodologies for first-generation memory technologies.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
