Kubernetes distributions in use are RKE2 (on-prem) and GKE, EKS, AKS (cloud). Day to day tasks also include monitoring performance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters (including high performance GPU acceleration), as well as developing and deploying platform automation scripts and software. Candidates will join a mature and experienced team of Kubernetes platform administrators with a wide range of skill levels. Candidates will have many opportunities for growth through project work and coaching from mentors. Examples of possible project work include implementation of self-healing system automation; testing, validation, and deployment of new Kubernetes versions; transformation of existing platform automation to make use of new Kubernetes functionality; testing and integration of new high performance bare-metal compute platforms; implementation and troubleshooting of novel Kubernetes multi-tenancy patterns such as vcluster; migration of Gatekeeper OPA policies to Validating Admission Policy.\nBaseline requirements:\nComfortable using and developing on Linux as a primary OS, especially Ubuntu. \n2+ years Kubernetes administration experience. \nAdvanced proficiency in Kustomize or Helm (preferably both). \nIntermediate knowledge of Kubernetes networking internals (notably Cilium). \nDirect experience deploying and maintaining enterprise Kubernetes clusters. \nAdvanced proficiency with Docker+ContainerD and Linux container internals. \nAdvanced proficiency with git and Github. \nKnowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture and troubleshooting. \nIntermediate proficiency with Python or Go. \nIntermediate proficiency with bash scripting. \nComfortable with Agile project management in JIRA. \nBeneficial additional experience:\nRecent CKAD and CKA certifications. CKS certification is a plus. \nBare-metal Kubernetes management with Rancher, RKE2, and Cilium. \nCloud Kubernetes management (GKE, EKS and AKS). \nDatadog log and metrics collection; dashboarding. \nOpen Policy Agent (OPA) and Gatekeeper OPA. \nKubernetes Ingress/Gateway API implementations. \nDeployment and management of Portworx and MetalLB. \nCreating CI/CD workflows using Github Actions. \nExperience with GPU-accelerated workloads in Kubernetes. \nMinimum Qualifications:\n• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.OR\n5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
