The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with Generative AI, AI/agent frameworks, APIs and SDKs, distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and developer tooling. The role involves building reusable AI platform capabilities and solving complex engineering problems in collaboration with platform, infrastructure, and domain engineering teams, from initial design and prototyping through production deployment.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop production-grade AI and agentic platform services, APIs, and SDKs.\nBuild reusable capabilities for AI agents, tools, skills, MCP integrations, and agent workflows.\nDevelop and integrate solutions using Python, REST APIs, and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, or equivalent technologies.\nBuild durable and distributed workflow orchestration for long-running AI and engineering workloads.\nIntegrate AI workflows with enterprise and developer infrastructure, including job execution environments, source-control systems, engineering tools, and internal services.\nDevelop and improve CLI and developer tooling, including installation, configuration, validation, update, and integration experiences.\nDesign reliable execution patterns covering retries, failure handling, state management, and external-system interactions.\nRapidly create prototypes and evolve successful prototypes into secure, maintainable, production-ready solutions.\nCreate technical documentation, examples, and reference implementations that simplify adoption by engineering teams.\nPartner with domain engineers and cross-functional teams to translate complex engineering processes into reusable AI-enabled workflows.\nExperience developing distributed applications using service-oriented or microservices architectures, message queues or event-driven patterns, caching, idempotency, retries, and consistency-aware design. \nRequired Qualifications\nStrong software engineering experience with Python and hands-on development of backend services and APIs.\nExperience developing Generative AI or LLM applications and production AI systems.\nHands-on experience with one or more agent or application frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI, or equivalent.\nExperience designing REST APIs, SDKs, or developer-facing libraries.\nUnderstanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, workflow execution, and failure and retry patterns.\nExperience integrating enterprise systems, developer tools, or engineering platforms.\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills across application and platform layers.\nExperience with production observability, logging, telemetry, or tracing.\nAbility to translate ambiguous engineering requirements into practical architectures and working implementations.\nStrong experience with Elasticsearch, including mappings, analyzers, shards and replicas, aggregations, query DSL, index lifecycle management, performance tuning, and vector or hybrid search. \nHands-on experience designing and operating RAG systems, including retrieval evaluation, relevance measurement, grounding quality, and mitigation of hallucinations\nSuccessful Candidate Characteristics\nStrong hands-on engineering and analytical problem-solving ability.\nComfortable owning a problem from architecture and prototyping through productionization.\nAble to work across AI, platform, infrastructure, and domain-engineering boundaries.\nComfortable learning new technologies and frameworks quickly.\nStrong technical communication, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills.\nAble to balance rapid experimentation with production reliability and maintainability.\nCollaborative and responsive when enabling other engineers to adopt platform capabilities.\nAble to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a cross-functional environment.\nMinimum Qualifications\nB.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline from a top-tier institution\n Minimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.3+ years of Data Science or related work experience.\n*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
