This role requires deep expertise across the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation, validation, commercialization, and long-term platform evolution.\nYou will collaborate with software, hardware, AI, systems, security, tooling, and product teams to create developer experiences that accelerate adoption of Qualcomm technologies across mobile, IoT, XR, automotive, industrial, and edge-AI platforms.\nResponsibilities\nSDK Architecture & Platform Strategy\nDefine the architecture, roadmap, and technical direction for Embedded SDK platforms supporting heterogeneous compute environments.\nArchitect reusable software frameworks, APIs, middleware layers, tooling, and runtime environments that operate across multiple operating systems and processor architectures.\nDrive architecture decisions for Agentic SDK platforms enabling autonomous workflows, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and edge intelligence solutions.\nEstablish long-term platform strategies balancing developer productivity, portability, performance, power efficiency, security, and scalability.\nSoftware Architecture\nDesign software architectures supporting Qualcomm SoCs comprising CPUs, DSPs, NPUs, MCUs, accelerators, and secure execution environments.\nDefine software decomposition, interface specifications, service boundaries, and integration requirements across subsystems.\nDevelop architectural solutions supporting multi-OS deployments including Linux, Android, Zephyr, QuRT, QNX, Windows, and emerging RTOS environments.\nDrive architecture reviews and technical governance processes across multiple engineering organizations.\nSoftware Development Lifecycle Leadership\nLead software programs through the complete software development lifecycle including: Requirements analysis\nArchitecture definition\nDesign specification\nDevelopment\nIntegration\nValidation\nRelease management\nCommercialization\nSustaining engineering\n\nEnsure platform designs meet performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, and security requirements.\nEstablish architecture documentation, reference implementations, coding standards, and platform adoption guidelines.\nAgentic AI Enablement\nArchitect frameworks enabling AI agents to interact with embedded systems, sensors, edge-AI services, and device resources.\nDefine SDK interfaces for model execution, orchestration engines, memory systems, telemetry, context management, and tool invocation.\nDesign software abstractions supporting on-device AI workloads across constrained embedded environments.\nCollaborate with AI framework teams to enable deployment of agentic and generative AI capabilities on Qualcomm platforms.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with silicon architects, systems teams, operating system teams, AI researchers, security architects, and developer tooling organizations.\nInfluence future chipset software roadmaps through architecture proposals and technical leadership.\nMentor software engineers and contribute to technical growth across the organization.\nRepresent Qualcomm with OEMs, ecosystem partners, standards bodies, and open-source communities when required.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.\n• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
