This role requires deep involvement in system-level analysis, optimization, and validation to achieve best-in-class performance, reliability, and seamless integration. You will also play a key role in optimizing hardware/software interfaces and drive schemes, developing and validating algorithms, and characterizing performance across edge and corner cases through firmware definition and refinement.\nKey Responsibilities:\nArchitect and define end-to-end system solutions for next-generation fingerprint sensing technologies.\nDefine system integration requirements across diverse sensor applications and product platforms.\nOptimize hardware/software interfaces and drive schemes to enhance overall system performance and efficiency.\nLead algorithm development and validation by integrating sensor physics with advanced data analysis to overcome limitations in existing sensor modules, improving accuracy, robustness, and performance.\nDevelop hardware specifications for ASICs, sensors, and module-level components.\nCharacterize and optimize system performance under edge and corner conditions through firmware development, testing, and iteration.\nPerform system-level verification and validation to ensure reliability, scalability, and production readiness.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, firmware, and product engineering) to enable successful integration into high-volume consumer products.\nPrepare clear technical documentation, design descriptions, and test materials for internal stakeholders and external partners.\nSupports design reviews for platform development; leads evaluation of system performance based on constraints and capabilities of design; works with multiple groups outside domain to support design integrity.\nIndependently identifies issues or patterns of issues related to systems-level software and hardware design and the implications for work within and across teams; makes overall recommendations for new technologies and to address ambiguous issues, design architectures, generate solutions, and develop models, code, and simulations.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. \n7+ years of Mixed Signal Design and Systems Engineering or related work experience. \nExperience with algorithm development, validation, and system-level performance characterization.\nFamiliarity with ASIC specifications, sensor physics, or module-level design.\nExperience in systems engineering, preferably with sensors and integrated modules\nProven ability to define architecture and integrate systems into commercial products.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to performance in edge cases.\nExperience with CMOS sensor design with TFT/LTPS technologies is a plus\nStrong understanding of hardware/software interaction, including FW development and HW/SW co-optimization.\nHands-on experience using CADENCE, SPICE, MATLAB, Verilog/VHDL, Python and lab equivalent.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
