The engineer will collaborate with OEMs, camera hardware teams, system architects, silicon teams, and Microsoft to deliver high-quality camera experiences for Windows devices.\nRequired Technical Qualifications\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ software development.\n5+ years of experience developing Windows device drivers.\nExtensive experience with Windows kernel-mode and user-mode development.\nStrong understanding of WDF technologies including KMDF and UMDF.\nExperience with Windows camera technologies:AVStream\nMedia Foundation\nDevice MFT\nCamera Frame Server\nWindows Camera Pipeline\n\nExperience with debugging tools such as:WinDbg\nWPA/WPR\nVisual Studio\nETW tracing\n\nExperience with camera hardware interfaces:MIPI CSI-2\nCCI/I2C\nSPI\nGPIO\nInterrupt handling\n\nExperience with camera sensor bring-up, validation, and debugging.\nUnderstanding of ACPI and UEFI firmware interactions with Windows devices.\nExperience with performance optimization, power management, and system reliability.\nProficiency with source control systems such as Git and Perforce.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.OR\nMaster's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.\nOR\nPhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing camera drivers for Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms.\nKnowledge of image processing and camera tuning concepts including:Auto Exposure (AE)\nAuto Focus (AF)\nAuto White Balance (AWB)\nHDR\nLow-light imaging\n\nExperience with ISP architecture and imaging pipelines.\nKnowledge of Windows Hello camera requirements and certification.\nExperience supporting OEM commercialization efforts and product launches.\nFamiliarity with WHCP certification and Windows hardware requirements.\nExperience working directly with Microsoft, camera sensor vendors, or OEM customers.\nUnderstanding of AI/ML-based camera features such as:Background blur\nAuto framing\nEye contact correction\nImage enhancement\n\nPrincipal Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop Windows camera drivers and camera framework components.\nLead camera sensor bring-up and hardware integration activities.\nDebug complex system, driver, firmware, and hardware issues across the camera stack.\nCollaborate with camera hardware, silicon, ISP, and system software teams.\nWork closely with Microsoft and OEM customers to resolve product issues.\nDrive camera feature enablement and performance optimization.\nSupport WHCP certification and product commercialization activities.\nReview software designs and conduct code reviews.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.\nInfluence camera architecture decisions across multiple product generations.\nQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
